There's a nice little kerfluffle of stories this morning that seem to be like one of those "Magic Eye" pictures. When you first look at it, they don't seem like much, but as a whole.... a very interesting picture leaps out.
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A fundamental shift is transforming the religious right, long a force in presidential politics, as aging evangelical leaders split on the 2008 race and a new generation of pastors turns away from politics altogether.

Over the longer term, the distancing of religious leaders from politics could prove even more consequential, denying the GOP one of the essential building blocks it has used to capture the White House in five of the last seven presidential races.

Idaho Values Alliance is in financial straits
The Idaho Values Alliance, founded by prominent social conservative Bryan Fischer, is in danger of folding because of a lack of funding, Fischer says.
The Boise group sent out an urgent plea for money this week, saying members will re-evaluate the group's finances in early December and that if donations fall short, the organization will be forced to shut down.(snip)
Gale Pooley, a member of the alliance's compensation board, said subscribers might assume others are funding the group. He also said political campaigns could be drawing money from people who would otherwise donate to the alliance.

So basically, there aren't enough suckers true believers to go around. Can't imagine why Idaho is having a problem with a so-called "Values" organization! Their Senator is a paragon of those "Values". Maybe the citizens are smartening up?
Or how about a shout out to "the obvious choice for those who care about the biblical values upon which our nation was founded.", Congressman Ric Keller. Except for when he's having an "affair with a 23 year old staffer, his suspect payments to her, his divorce from his ill wife, and then his subsequent marriage to that staffer."
Finally, but no where near the least, check out the video for the "Future of the Conservative Movement". Mr "Iowa College Republican Leader" reminds me of someone....
