"Memorial Mile" is a Gainesville Veterans for Peace Memorial Day (5/28) tribute to soldiers who have died in the US declared "War on Terror" in Iraq and Afghanistan. A section of NW 8th Avenue east of 34 Street is a measured mile through wetlands that restrict access from side streets. More than 3,842 fallen military will be represented by personalized grave markers set out 4 abreast and one mile in length.
