Hundreds of thousands of refugees from the Darfur region of Sudan have fled to Chad.
Chad, however, is in the grip of instability.
EUFOR, a European peackeeping force, has now been deployed to protect the refugees.
The mission involves 14 member states and a 3,700-strong peacekeeping force.
