Center for American Progress Health Policy Director Karen Davenport says the President will talk health care in his State of the Union but his solution is barely a band-aid for the 47 million uninsured Americans. Instead of disrupting the current system without providing a meaningful and better alternative, the president should support proven policies that provide the most assistance to those in greatest need, create real options for accessible group health insurance, and lay the groundwork for an efficient, high-quality health system. 1/23/07
