What the F--- did he just say??? Perfect example of the MSM jumping to partisan conclusions without evidence.
NBC's Richard Engle suggests to anchor Brian Williams that a brief pause in the fighting in Baghdad was due to the insurgency LAYING LOW to see if "political pressure in the U.S." (read: "Democrats opposing the surge") will "HELP THEM WIN".
Excuse me, but WHEN exactly did Engle start interviewing insurgents on how closely they were monitoring politics in the U.S. and their belief that they would regard a change in U.S. strategy as a "win"?
The *brief* cessation in fighting soon after the initial "surge" of 18,000 troops into Baghdad was more likely the result of insurgents leaving Baghdad for Ramadi and Falluja, not because they were "watching events in the U.S." and adjusting their strategy accordingly.
