Thanks for the comment! Yeah some elements of Christian Zionism can be pretty wacky (which Pastor Hagee proved again this week). I was watching the movie War Games on cable the other night. And the notion of "mutually assured destruction" -- which prevented the Soviets and the U.S. from nuking each other -- now seems like such a quaint concept. Now we have Christian Zionists who are actually trying to hasten the rapture and the end of the world and extremist elements in the Middle East who are willing to sacrifice themselves for greater glory. So "mutually assured destruction" at least kept our policies somewhat rational and now there is a great deal of irrationality seeping into the political system. Strange days indeed. Thanks again for your comment.
This is a great video. It's fun, fast, and informative (okay I didn't love the dig at progressives at the end but you make a good point). I also loved the rockin soundtrack underneath it all. Here was my take on the 2007 SOU... (I'm not sure if I can add html to a BNF comment so I'll just paste the link.)
