Leia, actually they do lots do, if you only talk to people of your mind set or read their blogs you don't get the whole picture. my daughter paternal grandparents watch FOx news and Fox knows how to poke at their underlying fears and prejudices. and anonymous, ive been upset with the way Hillary was portrayed for a long time, i rooted for her. I myself still decry unfair treatment of her by anyone, but I think the media bias that she brought up and snl made fun of where exaggerated. Obama was getting lots of attention then because he was on top just like she got lots when she was on top. the media reports on winners and whoever they think will bring them the most ratings. |

It's America You can call someone else a whore if you want, while some might be offended it;s your right. I mean the right wing get away with saying a lot of more heinous type of statements. as a women I really only get upset at hearing whore if it's used in a sexual connotations normally by men. women being catty and calling a girl whore is stupid too, but a woman calling hillary a whore in an act, not offensive. whats funny to me is how much truly disgusting bullshit right wing hosts can spew and they don't get suspended unless they are stupid enough to make an ethnic slur towards the Rutgers basketball team. Besides all politicians are whores, selling themselves, their positions for money, but hillary is an "fucking" whore and to me it's because she was the victim of the same kinda tactics that she's now using and that sick and bad. Stolkhom syndrome or something, or annakin skywalker going to the dark side, which one I don't know. |

fred, maybe you wee trying to be funny but i would think that you would have to be a hermit with no t.v.,resource internet or any other resource to not know McCains tale. That said, I really think the picture we had of John McCain the maverick, the lone Repub. standing against the neo cons, was false. I've read many articles trying to explain him, from him being so filled with military honor that he can't make the decisions necessary to get out of Iraq, (because there may be no honorable way to leave). After finding out he won't sign the new GI bill I find it hard to believe it's "military honor"; then theirs articles saying he's lost his idealism, that he realized he had to play some game to win. I don't know, I just know that I don't think of one of the only decent republican politicians, actually one of the few decent politicians at all. I didn't agree with all his conservative views, but I admired him for standing up to his own party. |

I had to fight to watch that video, and sadly that footage was not the worst of it. I get this sick feeling that follows me around after watching these kind of documentaries of the plight of animals in the research fields and in the meat industry. It makes me feel so helpless when confronted with this evil being perpetrated with help from the Government by Wealth worshipers.

this video made me squirm because it is so embarrassingly true. My Immediate family are Unitarians (I don't really like going to church or "fellowship" as UU's like to call it, I like to sleep, but now that my 3 year old is asking about god I'm going to have to start taking her to their pre-school because as a agnostic with atheistic tendencies I have no idea what to tell her.) So sometimes I get dragged along and on one of those occasions the Minister (who was a really cool guy,) was lecturing the what looked like a almost white, (except for the African baby that had been adopted my a member,) congregation. Apparently the congregation was trying really hard to attract people of different ethnicity into the church.(The UU"s at this church were really frustrated, it seemed that they were unable to show haw progressive that they were without any people of color filling in the ranks. The Minister was telling them that they were wasting their money on "diversity" classes that were not actually helping their cause. He chastised them for what was their real problem, the people of color who would show up didn't come back, and the reason was because the people there treated them like they were foreign royalty or something. They gushed and payed way more attention to them then they would a regular old white newcomer. They made people uncomfortable. He then said that this was almost as off putting as blatant racism would be. When someone joins a church or a group or any other kind of community they want to be a part of something. By making such a big deal out of a black family or a Latin couple that show up makes them feel like an outsider. People don't come back to a church that puts them up on a pedestal like some kind of mascot, and that means they don't bring their family or any friends either. that is how a community builds members, word of mouth. the sad thing is I heard people talking after the sermon and they were offended. they couldn't accept that the possibility that they were acting inappropriately. It was sad. Growing up in Chapel Hill N.C. I was sheilded from racism to a great degree. I didn't really even know that the diffrence between white and black was a big deal, i kinda thought that it was like the diffrence between being blonde and being brunette. Some of this I'm sure was because I was literally oblivious to much of what was going on around me. A specialist my mom took me to explained it that although my body was here on Earth my mind was spinning around Mars. I found out in 2nd grade when we learned about slavery and racism and was devastated. After that I watched people closely and was horrified to find my grandmother on my dads side, and lots of his family were racist.

thank you and you're right about it being confusing. I'm new to this and still trying to learn how to put together a good blog.(I have been having trouble figuring out how to do the tech stuff.) Also this piece was a rush job, I wish i could have taken more time to polish it a bit but I was under a time crunch and my three yr old was not happy with me for not paying her enough attention. I really should have waited until I had enough time to do it right, I'm pretty impulsive though and when I'm angry I feel an incredible amount of pressure within myself to get whatever is making me angry off my chest.

Derek (the Obama supporter) was awsome. He is the best exampale of what I love about the Obama campain. He's a smart dude, I'm sure he realized what was going on with the guy interviewing him. Instead of getting pissed and calling him out over it(like someone thought he should have done in a previous comment) he kept his cool, even when being rudely interrupted. By the time it was over the guy with the camera(who obviously had gone up with the intention of making Obama supporters look stupid) was being respectful, was feeling respectful. That is how we change the country. Shattering one negative expectation at a time. Being cool under fire, not turning into the beast that we hate |

p.s i think that all the people who freak so badly about immigration stuff should take a good look at the plaque on the statue of liberty, think about their racial heritage, and unless they are at least 1/2 native american, they need to chill the fuck out. Were their ancestors more desperate or deserving of the bounty of a free country? But then again this country isn't as free as it used to be, patriot act anybody, being held as and enemy combatants with no rights for as long as the Gov. wants to, or how about the guy the CIA sent to turkey for torture for like two years who was INNOCENT; i don't think that dude even got an apology. and although it seems to have gotten a little better you still have these politicians and pundits who want to call anybody who disagrees with the govt.'s policies a traitor; i thought in america you could say what ever you wanted without persecution. its in the constitution(not that bushies are really to concerned about the constitution) |

i have no words, i am completely dumb founded. i dont like to hate, its to easy and to damaging-but i really hate racism all isms and bigotry. the good thing is that the once mighty and powerful, (in the late1800's it was an extremely powerful political party) is now not much more than a handful of disgruntled, ignorant uneducated hate-mongers. if you look at the members of the kkk that show up at rallies most of them look like meth mouth broke down trailer living freaks. u might have one guy in a suit trying to make it all look-more respectable. i saw a clip on the daily show about a kkk rally and it interviewed the participants, it was really almost sad, so when i see the kkk acting up i try not to get to upset(although marching in Jenna on MLK day is pretty fucking bad) they are not worth getting worked up over, they are just s bunch of hateful freaks completely bewildered by their own irrelevance |

DJK, I agree 100% that it is a bad thing for Obama and Hillary to go on FOX, and no one with a working brain should ever go on falafel perverts show but dude whats up with using that video from NObama08, he, she or they who have that youtube channel are one of those freaks who can't stand Obama so much they have convinced themselves that he's really a muslim and that "he" not they are the racist ones. I'm just surprised you would use a video from that kind of hate-monger. I think the worst kind, the type who will just make crap up to fuel their hate. Otherwise I totally dig your posts.
