Agribusiness proponents claim that genetically modified (GM) food crops will lower costs, increase yields, decrease the need for chemicals and help stave off world hunger.  Opponents worry about the health risks and the threat to the environment-fearing that in the frenzied quest for higher profits, only minimal research has been done to prove the safety of GM crops.  Enter: "The Future of Food", a troubling exposé into the reality behind the unlabeled, patented, GM foods that have secretly entered our marketplace in the past decade. 

The documentary examines the collusion between industrial interest and political forces that are changing our diet as huge multinational corporations, ie. Monsanto, ConAgra, etc. seek to control the world's food system.

Comparing the two videos:  Obama's "yes we can" to McCain "Audacity of Despair" was very revealing - McCain's tag line: "Like Hope, but Different" was hysterical.  Truthfully though, while I thought that the McCain parody video above was pretty funny, the reality of ‘100 years of war' is Not a joke, esp. not to people who are killed in such actions.  You can check out additional information re: the cost of the Iraqi occupation at:  http://lessjobsmorewars.com/

To this day, even after the miserable failure of the Republicans/ Bushco.'s reign, people make the claim: "Ultra-liberals...are un-American." To them I say: "...Conservatism Has Failed. Deal With It."

As a former Edward's supporter, I wasn't planning to vote in the primary since I could not get excited over a ‘yes we can' or ‘experience' ticket. On Feb 5^th, I decided at the last second to fly in from FL and vote in the NY primary. Since my mom wanted to vote for Hillary, I did the same so that I would not nullify her vote-I can hear the howls of disappointment from voices who tell me that Hillary is a corporatist, voted for the Iraqi war/occupation & continued funding of said occupation, etc., but ultimately I'll be reasonably content with either candidate as long as we get the Republicans out of power.

A CEO, being paid $51,000/hour is taxed at a lesser rate (percentage wise) than a "worker bee" earning less than $50,000/year. Corporate loopholes, wealth transfers - ‘Reverse Robin Hood':  where money from the poor & middle class is given to the super rich -- etc., combined with Bush's give-away of our national resources to corporate cronies all contribute to the bankrupting of this nation.

The primary reason I support John Edwards is that he fights passionately for the dignity / rights of workers and against entrenched corporate interest.
