FOX Business likes to trot out the opinion du jour at the faux business network. It's a FOX favorite tactic to omit key informatiion about a guest that they feel might jeopardize or weaken that guest's credibility.

On July 25th, on "America's Nightly Scoreboard" host David Asman did a lengthy interview with Texas Republican Congressman Jeb Hensarling on the topic of the millions of dollars of campaign donations made over the last ten years by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.

Poor Rep. Hensarling!

Halfway through the interview he made a slip of the tongue that gave it away, telling Asman that the Freddie and Fannie lobbyists hadn't been to his office "in a while"!

Oops!

A little research on the Congressman reveals that since 1989 he's accepted $1.8 million in campaign donations, largely from banking PACs.

I came away with the distinct impression that Rep. Hensarling was a teeny bit miffed by the fact that he'd been overlooked by Fannie and Freddie's lobbyists.

Interestingly, according to Wikipedia, Hensarling is in line for a position in the GOP House leadership and may run for the Senate in Texas in 2010.

On July 24th during FBN's "America's Nightly Scoreboard," gushing peppy preppy host David Asman met his match in California Democrat Maxine Waters, who argued in favor of the housing bill that will be voted on in a rare Saturday Senate session.

The FOX Business approach is that the government should simply let giant mortgages houses Fannie Mae [the Federal National Mortgage Association or FNMA] and Freddie Mac [the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation or FHMC] fail or go into receivership.

The Congress has decided that these two institutions are too big to be allowed to fail.

For days FBN has been telling viewers that only 21% of Americans approve this bill. However, after an hour searching ong Google, I can't find any poll numbers to back up their claims.

During a segment on corporate tax havens, FOX Business Network host David Asman made the shocking statement that even a President McCain might raise taxes. This statement came at the end of a segment about corporate tax havens. Asman clearly thinks such tax-dodging tactics on the part of American bsuiness are just fine.

OK. Let's face it. Most of us know that the American people are being blackmailed by the oil companies into accepting opening up ANWAR and drilling our coastal waters. Important information is left out of media business reports or buried in the back pages. However, a few stalwarts like Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan and Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey tell the American public the truth. Listen carefully as Menendez skillfully rebuts Brian Sullivan's oil company talking points. The important point you need to focus on is that oil companies measure their net worth by the size of the their untapped reserves. They don't want to drill on the lands they already have leased because - drum roll please - that drilling will reduce THEIR NET WORTH. A big shout out to Sen. Menendez for telling the truth.

Brian Sullivan, an overly intense and eager FOX Business acolyte, substituted for Neil Cavuto last week. Good foot soldier that he is, Sullivan dutifully interviewed Lt. Col. Robert "Bob" Maginnis (USAF-Ret.), one of a number of stealth rapture Christians that FOX routinely depends upon to roil the waters and stridently call for yet another war.

Maginnis - who had a long-time affiliation with the Family Research Council and appears regularly on an end-of-days radio show - was introduced merely as a person who writes for "Human Events."

That's because FOX Business knows full well that no sane business person would give this guy the time fo day if they understood that he has a secret apocalyptic agenda.

As the corporations have outsourced our jobs and globalized their business interests, they have also weakened our position in the world community.

Northwest Airlines CEO Doug Steenland and CFTC Commissiioner Bart Chilton were interviewed on June 23rd by FBN's Neil Cavuto.

Both men were in agreement that oil speculators are a key factor in the astronomical rise in the price of a barrel of crude.

On June 30, 2008 the indomitable Muriel Siebert was a guest on FOX Business Network's "Cavuto". Siebert is famous as the first woman to own a seat on the New York Stock Exchange and the first woman to head one of its member firms.

She was interviewed by Elizabeth MacDonald, substituting for host Neil Cavuto.

Ms. Siebert - an impressive woman considered a legend on Wall Street - had some very interesting things to say about the current disarray in the financial markets.

MacDonald seemed taken aback by some of Siebert's comments. As a true believer in the FOX brand of free market capitalism, she appeared unprepared for Siebert's common sense, experience-based observations.
