On Memorial Day The New York Times published an article about journalists in Iraq needing written consent from the wounded soldiers to publish pictures, and how not being able to put a human face on this war may affect the American people and the discourse of war in general.

Hello everyone,

I know you are all excited to get on your way this long weekend, but we here at BNF would hope all of you remember two things for the weekend:

1. In all the driving, visiting family and friends, BBQing, shopping, and all the other Memorial Day weekend activities you all really take sometime this weekend to remember the people who have not only been lost in battle, but also those who are serving (and those who have served) for their country. No matter what country that may be.

With that said, we have come up with an idea here on how we can try to commemorate the spirit of Memorial Day online. Whatever you guys do for the soldiers this weekend let us know. Reply to this Blog post with details, write a message on Robert's Facebook wall, upload your photos to Flickr and tag them "BNFMD," or if you prefer moving images upload them to Youtube and tag them "BNFMD" as well.

I know this is late and many of you may already be on your way, but lets use this year as a test to see what memorial day means to the politically conscious people of the digital age.

2. Fight global warming, save gas, carpool.

Let's face it, Lisa Simpson is one smart little girl and in this clip from The Simpsons she asks the question we've all asked ourselves many times over:
