Putting words into people's mouths isn't cool. It's unfortunate that we posted it before it was confirmed - but I certainly hope the people responsible will pay. This isn't the way politics should be handled. |

I agree with you 100% We Need To Win. Whoever cut it together is playing dirty and deserves whatever lawsuit comes their way. Leah - I would not have thought in a million years that was fake. In hindsight I should have questioned, I guess that makes me naive to believe that people are honest. |

I'm an Indiana girl. Raised from 2 months old. I do matter, I am not shit, and I am a worthwhile BLACK ni**er thank you - there are some black people in Indiana. But I voted in LA, so I guess that makes me part of the elitist liberals Kanton and Carville are so ashamed of - not the worthless white ni**ers they're the champions of. |

John – excuse me We Need to Win, I think you misunderstood me. The point I was making was not that poor, black and Latino young men and women make up the majority of the Armed Forces (by the way, poor means all races). The point is that they are specifically targeted for recruitment and often the promise of education is dangled in their face. It was in reference to your statement about school and education. I wasn’t interjecting race - it was just the basis for a point. "In Denver and other cities where the Hispanic population is growing, recruiting Latinos has become one of the Army's top priorities. From 2001 to 2005, the number of Latino enlistments in the Army rose 26 percent, and in the military as a whole, the increase was 18 percent." - New York Times |

While it's a crime that it isn't and it would be great if it were - neither state nor community college are free. Education isn't cheap in this country and many young men and women and targeted from an early age by the US Armed Services - primarily lower income, black and Latino, and told that the way to college is through the Armed Services. We went through a period of time when we were at Peace. Many reservists signed up willing to dedicate a weekend a month and a week a year in return for education. Unbeknown to them they would have to fight in Afghanistan. (We Need to Win, you may not have read the post – but the soldier is station in Afghanistan, not Iraq) Should they have considered that when signing up to be a soldier? Without question - and now serving is the consequence. It is unconscionable that a prisoner who has raped and murdered children, or that someone sitting on death row has better conditions than some 22 year old kid who has spent 2 and 3 tours fighting in a desert. |

When I saw the coverage of Rev. Wright yesterday, I felt like I was watching an over the top SNL sketch - I think I now believe he's lost his mind. Way back when I went to church, I went to Trinity and I never saw this kind of behavior. But I have to say - it didn't look like he was trying at all to preserve the candidacy of a man he had "mentored" for 20+ years. |

Rose - Rev. Wright's comments - which were badly taken out of context - have been thrown in Obama's face so often it's starting to be laughable. And the issue always comes back to a question of his patriotism. As if someone running for president wouldn't be patriotic. Clinton and Obama are both taking their lumps from the MSM. |

Mark - I respect your feelings on this topic, but unfortunately they're wrong and fear based. Mayor Bloomberg is absolutely correct about trade. NAFTA has created a very big mess in other countries. "The most respected recent studies show that most Americans would notice little difference in their paychecks if illegal immigrants suddenly disappeared from the United States. That's because most Americans don't directly compete with illegal immigrants for jobs...On average, there is close to no net impact on the unemployment rate." - NPR |

It's election season - so, videos are going to be about candidates. BUT the videos posted on this blog are also videos that people find amusing, witty, well done, are extremely popular or insanely funny. This is a funny video. Ha ha - Sentaor Clinton has to travel back in time to win. Let's keep some perspective. It isn't always about bashing. Sometimes, it's just a good video. |

Pig - Your one-sided blindness on this matter is hilarious. As if "Hillary Haters" are to blame. My tried and true Democratic Party loving parents said themselves that though they WOULD vote for Clinton if she won the nomination, they'd have a hard time doing it. And they aren't the only ones that feel that way. And do you know why? It's because she takes every opportunity to take the front runner of the Democratic party out at the knees. She takes every opportunity to jump on McCain's side in every argument against Obama. So I ask you - who can do more damage? Idiots that sit around pontificating on blogs, or a politician that gets national news time and wags her finger and points out all the abominable things her opponent does. She has forgotten who her TRUE opponent is - McCain. The only person making it more difficult for Democrats to win in November is Clinton. THATS the real "Nader" in this election. And stop saying you support Obama. It's getting old. You're talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Socialist Pig -
“Who identified themselves strongly with the counterculture and then became disillusioned somewhere along the line, but still hold onto this identity that they are progressive leftists…so rather than… dealing with the fact that they have changed, you no longer seek social change…what you become cynical about is the possibility of change, and you become very cynical particularly about activists. And you really get angry at the people who don't join you in your stance of resignation.” Some of us still see the ability of the country to change. Maybe not in 2 years or 4 years or even 8 years. Lasting change doesn't come quickly. Will it become a far left leaning utopia - most likely not. But did cynics in the 1960s ever think integration would catch on? Changes take a movement -- an extreme displeasure in the status quo. But as long as we sit around and say "eh, it never was -- and it never will be" nothing will ever change. |

I'm grappling with whether or not to continue this, but you made some presumptions about me and my opinions and motives that are untrue, so I'll say my peace and let this be the last. You said I despise Clinton. I don't know Senator Clinton to be able to despise her, that's a pretty strong word. I disagree with her and find some of her tactics misguided, but I'd be hard pressed to find a politician in D.C. that I wouldn't say that about. Including Senator Obama.
