Obama speaking in North Carolina on Friday night:
I would not be here were it not for the fact that somebody, somewhere stood up for me. Because one person stood up, a few more stood up. Then a thousand stood up, and then a million stood up. That's why Hillary Clinton can run for President. That's why I can run for President.
Because somebody stood up.
And the question now is: Will the Democratic Party stand up for the next generation? That's my Patriotism. Those are my values. That's what we're fighting for in this election.

As much as McCain and Clinton might want to rally behind the "gas tax holiday," the experts and facts say clearly: it's a dangerously bad idea. Not only that, it's a gimmick.
The stupidity of the idea was summed up aptly by Thomas Friedman yesterday in the New York Times:
It is great to see that we finally have some national unity on energy policy. Unfortunately, the unifying idea is so ridiculous, so unworthy of the people aspiring to lead our nation, it takes your breath away. Hillary Clinton has decided to line up with John McCain in pushing to suspend the federal excise tax on gasoline, 18.4 cents a gallon, for this summer’s travel season. This is not an energy policy. This is money laundering: we borrow money from China and ship it to Saudi Arabia and take a little cut for ourselves as it goes through our gas tanks. What a way to build our country.
When the summer is over, we will have increased our debt to China, increased our transfer of wealth to Saudi Arabia and increased our contribution to global warming for our kids to inherit.
No, no, no, we’ll just get the money by taxing Big Oil, says Mrs. Clinton. Even if you could do that, what a terrible way to spend precious tax dollars — burning it up on the way to the beach rather than on innovation?

This is Amnesty International's new waterboarding ad, which is part of their "Unsubscribe-me" campaign. The ad will be shown in movie theaters starting on May 12th.
Amnesty's 90-second film, called Stuff of Life, opens in slow motion with stylish shots of crystal-clear water and an upbeat soundtrack in the style of a typical mineral-water TV ad.
However, after lulling viewers the ad transforms into an interrogation room where a man is strapped to a table being subjected to waterboarding. Waterboarding involves first tying detainees to a board face-up and tilted backwards, then pouring water over the face and into breathing passages to simulate drowning.

John McCain is asked why he voted against a law creating a national MLK holiday in 1983. He responds "I changed my view a very short time after," which is not even remotely the truth.. unless by "short time" he meant "11 years."
John McCain opposed a state MLK holiday in 1987, a new MLK Federal holiday in 1989, and funding for commission encouraging recognition of a holiday in 1994.

First there was the atrocious "Hillary 4 U & Me," then the painful "Making our Dreams Come True," and now the Hillary Clinton rap. I guess there's one thing we can be sure of: her win in Pennsylvania means another onslaught of these, er, "entertaining" Hillary-supporter videos.

John McCain says he loves the McCain girls. I'm not kidding.
Yesterday I let my doubts be known about their sincerity. Then today I see McCain being asked about them on FOX News. Either I've just be proven they are indeed, for real, or their plot has reached an all new level.
Wow.. just.. wow. I knew those horrid pro-Hillary supporter-made videos Jim and I posted would show up again somewhere, and they pop again in this new anti-Hillary video (along with so much more).

This shocking, newly unearthed footage shows her completely fictional account of visiting Bosnia in 1996.
