According to CNN, dozens of protesters were arrested today for blocking the doors and streets outside congressional buildings near the U.S. Capitol. According to Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, spokeswoman for the U.S. Capitol police, nearly 60 were arrested on various charges, including unlawful assembly.
I think it's about time that the American people took to the streets to express their political views. It was this activist mindset that helped bring about an end to the Vietnam war and it's long overdue today. It's time we all committed to doing something, enough is enough.
Police had warned the protesters dressed in Blackwater gear, as well as others in military fatigues, not to block the doorway or they would be arrested. They sat on the steps pretending to hold weapons in their hands.
Do something.
