I am sending this to Most of my friends and all of my "partners" in minstry, so I thought that I should post this here as well.
And while I believe with all my heart that the Iraq war was not just a mistake but a sin, , I hope that any of you who do support the war will allow that "we" can still be friends...we should be able to "agree to disagree".
If you, however, you agree with me, I hope you will "take action".
Dear friend,Next week will mark five years since the United States invaded Iraq. We all lament the suffering and violence that continue after these five heartbreaking years, and we all share in responsibility for a war that has been waged in our names and with our tax dollars.
That's why I've added my name to a public statement repenting for the Iraq war, which Jim Wallis and other Christian leaders will be releasing next week - with the signatures of thousands of Christians of all theological and political stripes.
Support for U.S. wars and foreign policy is still the area where Christians are most "conformed to this world" (Romans 12:2). We must commit to put our love for Christ ahead of obedience to a misguided government, and to ask our brothers and sisters to join us in working for peace.
We lament the suffering and violence in Iraq. ...
We lament the effects of this war on our country. ...
We repent of our failure to fully live the teaching of Jesus to be peacemakers. ...
We believe repentance means more than just being sorry. ...
We dedicate ourselves to the biblical vision of a world in which nations do not attempt to resolve international problems by waging war on other nations. ...Will you join me in signing the statement?

People often say with pride, “I’m not interested in politics.” They might as well say, “I’m not interested in my standard of living, my health, my job, my rights, my freedoms, my future, or any future.”
— Martha Gellhorn, writer/journalist (1908-1998)

Leave the rest to God.

The darling of the American Right once again displays just how teeny the GOP tent really is.
And FOX displays just how biased they really are.
Oh and notice how FOX and Coulter repeats the lie that Obama belongs to a racist church!
