Raz, You missed the point again. Nice job trying to research on this attempt though. I give you points for that. I don't think I ever took a stance on any of those points you were ranting on. I was just pointing out your ignorant rhetoric and infantile conclusions based not on actual knowledge but on what you heard on the news. Pitiful, my friend. You are making this way too easy. So please, re-read my post. Read a book or two. Study the history of something and educate yourself before you open up your mouth... or in this case, typing fingers. When you can post something thought provoking and not what I already heard from every other schmuck towing the party line, then I would CHERISH the opportunity to continue the debate with you. It is unfortunate how many of us really don't know what's going on in the world. Maybe we didn't pay enough attention in school. Maybe the school system sucked. Maybe we're just trying to be like mommy and daddy and follow along in their ignorant idealologies. It's a damn shame. This country has so much potential with unlimited resources and we're plagued with people who have absolutely NO CLUE how our government is run. They can't name more than fifty countries. Let alone 50 states from memory. They don't even know how many countries there are. They don't know who their representatives are. But they know enough about politics to post on the Internet in front of the whole world... One of my fav quotes... paraphrased: "Better to be silent and let others think you are an idiot than to open your mouth and prove them right." Well, Raz, to sum it all up with a snappy little comment like your last "offering": "You proved them right, Raz, you proved them right!" |

Nice Vince! Way to come in here and blow our mind with scientific data. Way to cite references. Sadly, these "scientists" also believe in Intelligent Design. Now, before I open that can of worms, remember, we are talking science here. Science is defined as: systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation. So, ID is not science. Also, we ARE heading for another ice age. Just like the ones we had before and it takes a little longer than 30 years for that to come about. So just because some guys in the 70's said it, don't discount it yet. What blows my mind is the disregard for scientific data and proof. No one wants to admit it, but the only people I know who blast science are the ones who have replaced this school of thought with something else (i.e. religion). There is no debate on global warming anymore (except on FOX I guess). The critics can't argue with fact. NOW, the debate is whether or not it is man-made. I bet you think the hole in the ozone layer was natural as well, right Vince? Why am I always saying this? I don't know, but here goes. Vince, crack open a science book. Get your learn on. |

One more thing, Raz. You commented on the US shutting the "rape and torture rooms" in Iraq. We did? So are we using different rooms to rape and torture people in Iraq? C'mon man. Please don't buy into all that altruistic bollocks. You can't say that now when the good ol' Prez and his crew are blatantly defending waterboarding, sensory and sleep depravation and other methods of torture. Rape is occuring as well. Please don't insult our intelligence with the whole "Iraqi Freedom" nonsense because no one is buying. Again, study Iraqi history. Check out how Saddam come to power and who his allies were. Crazy stuff. |

Raz, Besides re-learning how the "Good Ol' USA"'s government works, you might also want to study up on Iraqi history before commenting on a country you know nothing about. And for extra credit, study the etymology and DEFINITION of the word "terrorism". This is one of my BIGGEST pet-peeves. The absolute drivel that is spewing out from the mouths of the so called "right-wing". And like a poor little lost sheep, you spout it too. My biggest fault is with the misuse of the word terrorism. By the definition found in the dictionary, we ARE VERY MUCH guilty as well. Let's get down to brass tacks. Islam is the enemy that the right wing fears and they have succeeded in making terrorism synonymous with Islam. Bottom line, Raz. You talk EXACTLY like a lot of ignorant right wingers. Your words are their words and you're reproducing them here on this board verbatim. They don't know Iraqi or middle eastern history. They don't know about Islam. Even worse, like you, they don't even know the history or about the constitution of the US. Again, read some books, educate yourself, find your OWN thoughts and report back. Thanks. Class dismissed. |

We're all OK here, Raz. No worries. Just trying to "Raz" you a bit if you will. I am all about the call outs and I assure you if they occur, they're all friendly. We are, after all, countrymen. Now, back to the topic at hand. And this is assuming we all agree that congress is "allowed" by our president to meet with foreign states. Given. Deep down, is it just to criticize Pelosi publicly and then GO AND DO THE SAME THING? Remember, we are dealing with the given fact that members of our government who happen to write our laws are allowed to speak to foreigners by our all powerful commander in chief. Is it just? Now off topic (since we were talking about the war), here is some fun reading. The state of the Union Address in 2002. Hind sight is 20-20 eh? Actually, I think our impotent congress should have a bit more hind sight these days and correct some of these mistakes... Anyway, here is the glorious speech for a walk down memory lane. http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2002/01/20020129-11.html |

Wow, I really got under your skin there didn't I?
Keep on keeping on, Raz.
