So, incompetence, stupidity, or mendacity? Specter has been a Republican senator since 1980, so you’d have to be pretty damn stupid to think he’s a Democrat, and unbelievably incompetent not to catch the mistake.

That leaves mendacity. See, Specter was raking Gonzo about his inconsistent testimony (aka LIES) and trying to figure out why Gonzo and Andrew Card tried to get a sedated John Ashcroft to sign off on warantless wiretapping (aka ILLEGAL SPYING ON AMERICANS). In Faux World, Republicans and the Decider In Chief are always virtuous and united while Democrats are sinful and bickering. So how does Noise explain Specter’s attacks on Bush’s BFF Gonzo? Make him a Democrat!
