Everyone loves free, and one of the best ways to get people to buy your products is to offer them a teaser for free. And Web 2.0 offers many ways you can get your product samples out there, give a people a taste of your product and show them where they can buy the full version.

Obviously, this method isn't for everyone and is suited only to certain products. If, for example, you sell cars it wouldn't make much sense to offer people a free wheel as a teaser. However, if you sell online tutorials, eBooks, audio books, video content or software, this method works really well. In general, if your product can be downloaded, demos and teasers are an excellent means of promotion. You will also benefit from backlinks to your website which will help your standing with the search engines.

So, here are some tips on how to give potential customers a taste of what you offer and leave them wanting more.

When it comes to Web 2.0 promotions, there is no shortage of different ways to attract extra traffic to your website. The difficult part is finding the methods that work best for you. One handy method that often passes under the marketing radar is the use of classified websites to increase backlinks and help create organic traffic too.

There is little difference between the traditional classified ads you see in a newspaper and classifieds on the web, except that you can post your ads for free on all the websites we mention here.

Most people use classifieds as a way to increase backlinks. However, do not discount the organic traffic that it might gain you so spend some time writing your classifieds. Keep them catchy and try to come up with a good headline. Also, use your targeted keywords in classifieds as much as possible.

There are a number of websites you can put your classifieds on but Craigslist is a good place to start. This will take a bit of work as there are hundreds of regions and you should post five or ten different classifieds in a number of different regions. Aim for the more populated regions and try to include keywords in your classifieds in all cases.

In the Web 2.0 world, buzz marketing has emerged as a valuable tool in selling products and driving targeted website traffic.

Also known viral marketing, buzz marketing was traditionally seen as the promotion method which jumped from person to person through recommendation and review. However, recent developments in internet technology have changed all that.

Buzz marketing can now be achieved through web dialogue, blog posts or social networking participation.

Research suggests that some of the best methods of online buzz marketing are microsites that have add hip value and appeal to a younger audience...online games, polls, and video clips.

The development of the Web 2.0 process means that users are now increasingly driving content and can voice their opinions through many online venues. Blogs, social networking websites and wikis all allow users to express their opinions without the fear of actually speaking person to person.

From a marketing point of view, this can be a double edged sword. Consumers will tout good products, good customer service, and overall good experiences. In fact, a consumer will tell three other people about a product or service if they like it. However, if you don't have a good product (or service), you slip on your customer service, or you provided an awful experience, a customer will tell eleven other people about it. Online, words get around fast and stays around for a long time.

My most recent time in Iraq, August 2004 to October 2005, left me with nothing short of a bad taste in my mouth....and everything you see in "Iraq for Sale" is true." -Sgt. Phillip R. Slocum II, U.S. Army and National Guard

"The two friends I showed the film to are old die hard Republicans who have hated what George and neo-cons have done to this world. These last two years have been a big turn around for them, but seeing Iraq for Sale really changed them. It made them so mad. I cannot say enough about this movie." -Dorothy Walton, West Covina, California

"It's the perfect vehicle for people to approach their neighbors from opposite ends of the political spectrum. It transcends partisan politics. We were most impressed that it was a vehicle for dialogue rather than just preaching to the choir." - Sharon Heath, screening host in Los Angeles

"Around eighty students and professors showed up - which is a HUGE turn out for Murray!! The discussion afterward lasted over an hour. " -- Penny Smith, Murray State University Amnesty International

"IRAQ FOR SALE is a reminder of why it is patriotic to stand up against a broken policy, and why the blank check, rubber stamp Washington Republicans need to be fired for their incompetence and irresponsibility." - Sen. John Kerry

"Please tell as many of the people involved in making it that the soldiers over here appreciate the film and applaud you for making it. If there's more we can do we will do it. " - Sgt. Jon LaCore, U.S. Army

Over 4,000 screenings have been planned and more are coming in every day -- all made possible by you calling friends, emailing your lists, organizing events and spreading the word.

MoveOn members organized over 1500 Iraq the Vote screening parties where they watched the film and made over 200,000 calls to voters in their continuing volunteer phone banking efforts. Hundreds of groups, from Democracy for America to Amnesty International, from Campaign for Americas Future to Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsbility and Code Pink all had screenings.

Once again, you are all having a real and profound impact.
