This political age is too familiar with politicians who thumb their noses at the people they represent, caring only about a small, <strike>influential</strike> rich subset of their constituency.

The Congressional Black Caucus is just as guilty of this as any other subset of the legislature. However, given the general lack of attention afforded to Black issues in media and government, this adversely the Black folks the caucus represents even further.

I'd like to see "awards" like this given out for every caucus within the Congress. It's time to start getting politicians to put their votes where their rhetoric is. Too often these two do not align.

Can I vote for Carolyn Cheeks-Kilpatrick?

Probably because instead of being better than the Republicans, some members would secretly rather be just like the Republicans, at least in the way they handle the political process. What these members fail to realize is that it's pretty hard to find Washington Republicans that have Black folks' best interests at heart, and even harder to find major US Corporations that have Black folks' best interests at heart.

I ask that you contact members of the CBC and ask that they turn this trend around and get back to the vision and goals of the original members of the caucus:

to promote the public welfare through legislation designed to meet the needs of millions of neglected citizens

And I thought I was done with the CBC.

I hope by “postponed” they actually mean “cancelled due to the realization that the whole idea was crazier than a shithouse rat.” Seriously, why would a black democratic group want to co-host a debate with a network that openly hates both minorities and democrats?

In what I assume is a face-saving justification, US Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss) said this:

“The overwhelming number of party presidential debates has created a scheduling challenge. Revising the CBC Institute’s debate schedule will allow the time necessary to complete all debate logistics in an effective manner,” Thompson said in the release.

In any case, all us Fox Attackers out there should feel very proud of this new development, especially since it is just code for canceling a debate that no real democratic contenders were going to attend thanks to our education/pressure campaign.

Seriously, this isn’t a joke. Roger Ailes, president of Fox Noise, said this at a journalism awards dinner on June 5 about Democrats who won't attend the Fox/CBC debate:

“The candidates that can’t face Fox, can’t face Al Qaeda,” said Mr. Ailes. “And that’s what’s coming.”
There you have it, right from the horse’s bloated mouth. See, Ailes recognizes that Noise and Al Qaeda really share a lot of qualities. Let’s list a few of the similarities between the organizations:

- War-mongering and violent? Check.
- Hate American freedoms? Check.
- Ideologically rigid? Check.
- No respect for international law or the Geneva Conventions? Check.
- Full of conservative religious whackjobs? Check.
- Wants to kill Americans? Well, FN wants US troops to stay in Iraq forever. So, Check.
- Approves of torture? Check.
- Wants to scare Americans? Check.
- Preaches hate for those with different beliefs? Check.
- Think GW Bush is a big help to their cause? Check.
- Hate democracy? Check.
- Enemy of America? Check.
- Assholes? Check.

Any more to add? Comment away!
