SARAH PALIN: Maybe you remember, it was just about a year ago, when things with the war looked very, very bad. Some in Washington declared that the McCain campaign was doomed because he refused to hedge his commitment to the security of our country. They told us that all was lost, and that there was no hope for this candidate who said, he would rather lose an election than see his country lose a war. But the pollsters and the pundits, they forgot one thing when they tried to write him off. They forgot the caliber of the man himself. The determination, the resolve, the sheer guts of Senator John McCain. Of course the voters knew better. And maybe thats because they realize that there is a time for politics, and a time for leadership. Theres a time to campaign, and there is a time to put our country first. John McCain is a man who wore his countrys uniform for 22 years, and he refused to break faith with our troops in Iraq, who have now brought victory within sight. And as the mother of one of those troops, that is exactly the kind of man I want as Commander in Chief.

About 400 hundred people attended the Centre's event in Sydney with the renowned American political scientist, thinker and author Professor Francis Fukuyama on 28 May.

Chief Executive Professor Geoffrey Garrett conversed with Professor Fukuyama on a wide range of issues from the new administration's foreign policy, to the rise of China, the use of hard and soft power and the impact of climate change.

The conversation was followed by a Q and A session - The University of Sydney

Professor Francis Fukuyama has worked at several prominent think tanks and public policy organizations, he has served the U.S. Department of State in posts related to Middle East affairs, and is a 2002 appointee to the President's Council on Bioethics.

Francis Fukuyama is Bernard Schwartz Professor of International Political Economy at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, and Director of its International Development Program.He is the author of The End of History and the Last Man.

CBS's Scott Pelley Suppresses "War President's" Incompetence

PELLEY: What would you say right now in this interview to the Iranian president about the meddling in Iraq?

BUSH: I'd say, first of all, to him, "You've made terrible choices for your people. You've isolated your nation. You've taken a nation of proud and honorable people, and you've made your country the pariah of the world. You've threatened countries with nuclear weapons. You've said you want a nuclear weapon. You've defied international accord. And you're slowly but surely isolating yourself." And secondly, that "it's in your interest to have a unified nation on your border. It's in your interest that there be a flourishing democracy." And thirdly, you know, "If we catch your people inside the country harming US citizens or Iraqi citizens, you know, we will deal with them."

When Pelley tells President Ahmadinejad what President Bush said, he omits the sentences which expose Bush as dangerously ignorant of the basic facts.

This is Mainstream Media at its most devious, suppressing things from most of the people. Bush doesn't understand the BASIC facts, And Scott Pelley suppresses this? How many people are going to go back to the original transcript from January and read what Bush actually said and find out Pelley is playing them for fools?
