Last weekend's war protests drew 100,000 people but they were nearly ignored by the mainstream media. Since the media are owned by some of the companies who actually benefit from perpetual war, it is no surprise that they would want people to believe there is no substantial opposition to the war. Public opposition to the war will spread when the public knows more about it.

Robert Kennedy Jr. said that media consolidation and campaign finance reform are two of the biggest issues we face today. Seek out independent media and vote for candidates who demonstrate independence from the special interests.

It early and I was watching the news, and all I hear is how disadvantaged voters are. Who happens to show up this group of fringe Clinton (um, McCain supporters) called PUMA. Everywhere I go, I hear that Obama is getting flack cause of the primary victories. So I decide to put together a video and rail against this group who has railed against me. I am so tired of this group. So I poke fun at this group. These morons are off the radar.

This time I fight back! [Party Unity My Ass or People United Means Action] are a bunch of deranged Clinton-fanatics.

They alongside the conservatives and Republicans are spreading their vile on my page. They attack those who support my videos and the message.

Once again, I support the Democratic candidate Barack Obama over the Republican candidate John McCain. The reason(s) why is pretty simple: OUR ECONOMY! They lobby against me supporting the Democratic candidate.

And now I will lobby against them. So I got the cat nip P.U.M.A.! Get at me! Call me everything in the book, you don't know me! You can't relate to my problems! The only thing you know about me is that I am American.

I greatly respect Senator Hillary Clinton, Congressman Ron Paul and former governor Mitt Romney. They were very popular presidential candidates. But in no way, I will support the motives of this fringe movement of Americans who sole purpose is to cause "chaos" just because their candidate failed to win the nomination. Senator Obama gladly opened up the roll call votes for super-delegates. He gave the Clintons ample air time at this convention. The Obama campaign allowed the Democratic National Committee debate over early primary states Florida and Michigan. Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Barack Obama supported the idea to punish Florida and Michigan for holding their Democratic primaries early. I mean Senator Obama is damned if he do, damned if he don't. The P.U.M.A.s fail to realize that Obama ran the most successful campaign thus far.

These P.U.M.A.s are in for a rude awakening. They want to throw their support to Senator John McCain in order to sabotage Obama. And use this as a platform to draft Clinton in 2012. One more thing, P.U.M.A. if you accomplish your goal in sabotaging Barack Obama and the Democratic Party allowing John McCain win! Do you actually believe the millions of voters who supported Barack Obama will support Hillary Clinton in 2012?

I highly doubt that!

Anti-War Protesters Have Every Reason to Yell "Fuck FOX News!"

The DNC is barely under way in Denver, but protesters are already making themselves heard. Their message: "Fuck corporate media!" and "Fuck FOX News!"

That's the response FOX's Griff Jenkins receives when he throws himself into a swarm of marching anti-war protesters. Jenkins plays incredulous well in this clip, asking over and over again why the protesters don't believe in freedom of speech—the irony of ironies, considering these protesters are exercising their first amendment rights with every step they take.

As Jenkins is drowned out by a "Fuck FOX News!" chorus and disappears among a sea of middle fingers flipped at the camera, he cries out, "That's just not necessary." Au contraire, Mr. Jenkins. These calls are entirely necessary, considering FOX has served as the propaganda arm of the Bush administration for the last eight years.

FOX has been Bush's biggest cheerleader in his war with Iraq. FOX joined the corporate media in drumming up support for the war, preying on a vulnerable nation by drawing the false connection between Iraq and 9/11 and touting the administration's so-called "evidence" of WMDs. Even as other corporate outlets realized their awful mistake when evidence proved the administration had no justification to go into Iraq, FOX offered no mea culpa. Instead, the network continued to pretend the war was succeeding, when the reality was it had become a brutal quagmire that continues to this day. But FOX didn't stop with Iraq. Oh, no. For more than a year now, the network has been war-whooping over Iran as well.

FOX is guilty of war- and fearmongering, spreading the administration's lies at every turn, and smearing those who try to set the record straight. So "Fuck FOX News?" I'd say these anti-war protesters get the message just right.

UPDATE: Think Progress notes that FOX sent Griff Jenkins out to that DNC protest specifically "to cause trouble."

Hannity & Colmes - The O'Reilly Factor: Obama Bashing!

This will be the final mention of Fox News and its commentators Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. After this video, I will no longer refer to them by name, other than calling them "conservative critics" or "conservative pundits". That also includes talk radio pundits, internet bloggers and newspaper/magazine columnist. No more mentions of Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage or Ann Coulter. From now on, anytime I post a video derailing against that network or these controversial pundits, they will be called "conservative critics". And when Senator Barack Obama mentions either name or that network, I will donate a portion to the Obama campaign. Thanks for viewing and post comments at the bottom. Take a stand against the corporate owned media and turn that television, radio and the internet smear machine off. I guess in order to get attention; I guess you keep doing what you do in order to get the Illinois senator's attention. That's Sean Hannity, Alan Colmes, Bill O'Reilly and Greta Van Susteren's plan! Attack, attack, attack! They are so desperate to bring Democratic Senator Barack Obama on, Hannity called out the senator to appear on his shows. Bill O'Reilly shoved a man working with Obama, and even called upon an unscientific poll to urge the senator to come on his show. Fox News is strident to say at least. The senator and his campaign have a frosty relationship with the network, and getting the senator to at least appear on prime time programming will prove very difficult. With Obama's heavy scheduling, and constant attacks from Fox News, it's basically going to be a: "I'll scratch your back, if you scratch mine" moment! In order to generate huge ratings and of course, bragging rights: They want the most popular candidate in the 2008 Presidential Election. Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes, the time will come when the viewers will change the channel and ratings will go down. Bill O'Reilly, you may be the top of cable news, but sooner or later, you will screw up and the fan base will turn their back on you! Trust me; an ego can quickly be deflated. And with that said, I see that Neil Cavuto is already marching to the tune of hang the John Edwards affair over Barack Obama's neck. This is what a "business program" such as "Your World" is. I bet you, there are more liberal viewers and African Americans watching the programs now! My main two reasons for all the disgust towards Fox News is: Hannity's obsession with Senator Barack Obama (and Jeremiah Wright), and the attacks on the African American community by not only O'Reilly, Hannity and Colmes, but other pundits and critics of the African American community. [Progressive and civil right groups] are practically waiting for O'Reilly to slip up in some controversial quote! They are begging for Hannity to continue to say something about Obama in a negative tone. Cause people are waiting for the simple slip of the tongue coming out of Bill O'Reilly, John Gibson, Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade, Gretchen Carlson, Bill Hemmer, Megyn Kelly, Martha McCallum, Carl Cameroon, E.D. Hill, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, Alan Colmes, Newt Gingrich, Karl Rove, Dick Morris, Geraldine Ferraro, Jesse Lee Peterson, Juan Williams, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter and John Kasich. They are waiting for something so controversial; they will rally up and boycott the corporate owned sponsors! The viewers will urge corporations to drop their support, have the commentator or network reprimanded, and/or terminate the commentator. I am not going to allow Fox News and talk radio downgrade African Americans, Latinos and Senator Barack Obama. I will not allow this network to downgrade any race, sexuality, gender or political views. Take the time to realize there's an opposition. Bring them on! The only thing they know about me is that I am an American. These people are quite cynical of the videos, Senator Barack Obama and those who support me. And yes, I am aware of them. They will rate the video poor. They want to attack me personally with bigotry and stupid comments! They want to threaten me! They will try to box you in with comments about being supportive of Obama. Ignore that! Make sure you are ready with facts. Cause the opposition is going to try to debate you! Don't fall for "gotcha" questions and "ad hominem" attacks. And of course, they can call me every name in the book! They don't know me! I don't support the Black candidate; I support the Democratic candidate, Barack Obama. And as for those PUMAs, Republicans who support race-baiting tactics, conservatives, and those who still don't get it. I will gladly send you the links to debunk, the statements to denounce and clear fact checks to dispel all the ignorance spread here. Nearly every comment I've read, heard, and seen reflect the relatively benign nature of last night's debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama:

"It was a draw" was the conclusion I heard most often. "Nobody won, nobody lost...which means Hillary lost, since she needed a knockout win" was the other one. Oh, and let's not forget the ever-popular "Yawn", "Boring", and "Nothing new".

Constrast those with the media headlines I've been seeing since last night:

As we all know, as much as the GOP (and a few goofy commenters here) harp on the "liberal media," such left wingers as former Sec. Of State James Baker, Neocon Bill Kristol and right-winger Pat Buchanan have admitted it is a fairy tale useful to the Right.

Yet James Baker, perhaps the most media-savvy of them, owned up to the fact that any such complaint was decidedly misplaced. "There were days and times and events we might have had some complaints [but] on balance I don't think we had anything to complain about," he explained to one writer. Patrick Buchanan, among the most conservative pundits and presidential candidates in Republican history, found that he could not identify any allegedly liberal bias against him during his presidential candidacies. "I've gotten balanced coverage, and broad coverage--all we could have asked. For heaven sakes, we kid about the 'liberal media,' but every Republican on earth does that," the aspiring American ayatollah cheerfully confessed during the 1996 campaign. And even William Kristol, without a doubt the most influential Republican/neoconservative publicist in America today, has come clean on this issue. "I admit it," he told a reporter. "The liberal media were never that powerful, and the whole thing was often used as an excuse by conservatives for conservative failures." Nevertheless, Kristol apparently feels no compunction about exploiting and reinforcing the ignorant prejudices of his own constituency.

The truth is we have a right-wing media machine, a la Fox, Rush, Washington Times, Regnery, Christian Broadcasting, etc., and a corporate media, who pays such known leftists as John Stossel, George Will, Glenn Beck, Nancy Grace, Joe Scarborough, Tucker Carlson, Bill Bennett, Pat Buchanan, J.C. Watts, etc. and so forth to provide a helluva "liberal bias."

Here is one reason why Democrats often cave, and Republicans win some battles even though everything they have done in the foreign policy realm, economically and in pretty much every policy area has been an disasterous failure over the past 6.75 years.

Well, it is just as bad among those columnists receiving syndication. So it was a pleasant surprise when a fighting progressive, David Sirota, got a synidicated column. We need more voices like this out there if we are going to stop the GOP from, in George W. Bush's words, "catapulting the propaganda."

Call you local newspaper and ask them to pick up David's column. And read his columns. This is a great opportunity for all of us.
