Appearing on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Senator John Edwards shares his thoughts on Tim Russert, who died of a massive heart attack earlier in the day. Edwards said of Russert, "He was not only an extraordinary journalist, but an extraordinary human being."

Speaking about Russert's cross examination style of interviewing, Edwards said that Russert "was not looking for that 'a ha' moment but looking for the truth." "The American People trusted him," Edwards said.

Edwards released the following statement on Tim Russert: "A great man has been lost. It is not just that our system depends on intelligent, persistent, fair-minded journalists, and Tim was one. It is not just that the civility of our political interchange requires dignity and respect and -- it is also true -- compassion, and that Tim was a model of each of these. It is not just that the manner in which we treasure and respect our essential personal relationships is the real mark of character, and that Tim was an exemplary son and husband and father. It is that too few among us reach for all these things and even fewer attain them. We were blessed to have had his friendship and companionship. We were all blessed to have his wisdom and vision and to have shared his joy for life. Bill O’Reilly has gone so far into overdrive trying to protect his dear leader that he really doesn’t seem to know which end is up anymore. First, he claimed that the US didn’t invade Iraq. And now, in his recent interview with Scott McClellan, BOR tried to claim that nuclear weapons aren’t WMDs and Colin Powell didn’t talk about nukes when he gave his infamous presentation to the UN. Keith Olbermann breaks it down.

Seems like BOR has gone from rewriting history to trying to rewrite reality. The big thing to notice is the confidence with which he speaks, even when he’s completely making things up, then when he’s unequivocably confronted with one of his lies, he just brushes it off like it never happened. He’s willing to throw out any ridiculous claim to see if it sticks or if his guest will call him on it.

I really think that most of his viewers assume that if BOR says something with conviction, he couldn’t possibly be lying. But if he keeps venturing into total crackpot bizarro world with claims like these, even his viewers might not be able to remain in his fantasy kingdom. As we know from the Andrea Mackris transcripts, BOR has a very vivid imagination, especially when it comes to Caribbean shower fantasies…

Brazile Says Clinton Camp Refused Obama 'Olive Branch'

On today's This Week, Donna Brazile, fresh from yesterday's DNC Rules and Bylaws Tango at the Marriott Wardman Park, broke a little bit of a bombshell whilst paneling. According to Brazile, the Obama campaign had enough votes to get a fifty-fifty split of the Michigan delegation, a result that would have greatly advantaged the Obama campaign and minimized the delegate gains Clinton garnered from Florida. However, the Obama camp passed on pulling the trigger on that deal in favor of the less favorable 69-59 split that the Michigan delegation was proposing.

Brazile, who was taken aback at the lack of effort made by the Clinton campaign to "cut a deal" or otherwise "come to the uncommitted superdelegates" in the room, said: "He also could have won on a crucial vote on this Michigan proposal to split the delegation 50-50. And rather than cause a ruckus they gave in. He had the votes. and the Clinton campaign never took the olive branch."
