However, due to diplomatic bullying and intimidation on the part of the People's Republic of China, only a handful of countries have formal diplomatic ties with Taiwan and the more than 22 million people in Taiwan no longer have a voice in international organizations like the UN or the World Health Organization. <br />Why doesn't the UK have official diplomatic ties with Taiwan and treat Taiwan as an independent country?
