Try to guess what Sarah Palin is really saying at 0:37 !

► samharris.com

Sam introduces you to Lisa Picotte, his friend Actress, Acting Coach and Mom to Vlog Person favorite, Gracie!

LISA PICOTTE began acting at the age of eight as a member of the nationally-acclaimed Rainbow Company Children's Theatre Ensemble in Las Vegas, NV. She was required to work on every show in the five-show season in some capacity, either onstage or behind the scenes. While she was a member, Rainbow Company was awarded the title Best Children's Theatre in the United States two years in a row. By the time she left the company, Lisa was a veteran of over 40 productions, including drama, comedy and musical theatre. Lisa went on to study at Los Angeles City College's Theatre Academy and began working professionally at the age of 18.

Lisa's film and television credits include regular and recurring roles on such series as His and Hers, Married with Children, Great Scott!, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, and Dangerous Women, as well as guest roles on such series as The Closer, ER, The X-Files, The Fighting Fitzgeralds, Titus, Step by Step, Wings and Howe High. Film credits include roles in the soon-to-be-released Jekyll, The Earth vs. The Spider, Enchanted, Strange Days and The Homestead.

You may have seen her running down a grocery store aisle, scooping up packages of Quilted Northern Bathroom Tissue or serving up bowls of Dreyers Grand Ice Cream, as she has done dozens of national television commercials, including such other products as Western Union, Pizza Hut, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Nutri-system, and Zings, among others.

One of Lisa's favorite projects was creating and hosting the cult-favorite Internet series entitled Oh, For God's Sake, I Don't Get It!, episodes of which can still be seen at www.onlinevoice.com.

Lisa is the recipient of several critics' awards and nominations for her extensive work in Los Angeles legit and musical theatre, including such productions as Merrily We Roll Along, both at West Coast Ensemble and Reprise! (LA Weekly Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress), Company (Garland and Dramalogue Awards), A Quarrel of Sparrows (LA Weekly Award nominee), Music From Down the Hill (Dramalogue Award), and Quilters (Dramalogue Award), among many others. In addition to West Coast Ensemble, Lisa is also a member of the Musical Theatre Guild, having appeared in many of their productions, including I Can Get It For You Wholesale, Parade, Allegro, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Louisiana Purchase.

Lisa received a scholarship and studied Shakespeare at London's Royal National Theatre, and is currently writing a screenplay based on her recently-published short story Casino Eyes.

She currently lives in Los Angeles, and in her free time, like her actor-husband David Kaufman, is obsessed with games -- hearts, mah jong, Yahtzee, Michigan Rummy -- whatever -- it doesn't matter, as long as she wins! Her proudest achievement is being mother to daughter Gracie and son Henry Oliver.

Lisa's Resume:

Dean Karnazes visits Google's Mountain View, CA headquarters to discuss his book "50/50: Secrets I Learned Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days." This event took place on August 20, 2008, as part of the Authors@Google series.

Dean Karnazes is Time Magazine's 27th Most Influential Person in the World and ESPN's Outdoor Athlete of the Year.

In the Fall of 2006, Dean Karnazes, known as the "Lance Armstrong of the running world," took on the ultimate challenge: running 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 consecutive days. Dean set off in a caravan packed with fellow runners, with nothing more than a roadmap and a determination that defied all physical limitations. 50/50 goes beyond the incredible story of these 50 marathons. It is a firsthand account of what happens when your body defies all limitations, and it is a fascinating story of what it's like to push the limits of strength under grueling conditions.

In 2009 Dean will connect hundreds of communities across the U.S. as he runs from San Francisco to New York at at 40 miles a day for 100 days straight.

Ed Park visits Google's San Francisco, CA office to discuss his book "Personal Days." This event took place on June 18, 2008, as part of the Authors@Google series.

In an unnamed New York-based company, the employees are getting restless as everything around them unravels. There's Pru, the former grad student turned spreadsheet drone; Laars, the hysteric whose work anxiety stalks him in his tooth-grinding dreams; and Jack II, who distributes unwanted backrubs--aka "jackrubs"--to his co-workers.
On a Sunday, one of them is called at home. And the Firings begin. Rich with Orwellian doublespeak, filled with sabotage and romance, this astonishing literary debut is at once a comic delight and a narrative tour de force. It's a novel for anyone who has ever worked in an office and wondered: "Where does the time go? Where does the life go? And whose banana is in the fridge?"

Ed Park is a founding editor of The Believer and a former editor of the Voice Literary Supplement. His writing has appeared in The New York Times Book Review and many other publications. He lives in Manhattan, where he publishes The New-York Ghost. Visit www.ed-park.com.

Lobby days! You've heard of them, and maybe you've even been thinking about going. Well, time flies and the lobby days are in one week. To those of you that don't know what we're talking about, listen up: the job's not over. The displaced in Uganda won't go home until the peace talks are signed, and the peace talks won't be signed unless they know that the US will support their work. So we're taking a risk. We only sent this email out to people within a decent hitchhike radius from the Hill, and we're hoping the East Coast pulls through. Last year's lobby days brought in 800 people, the largest lobbying force for East Africa ever. (To those of you that were there, thank you.) This year we're asking that 1,000 come out, but we have yet to see 500 names on the list. Sign up and bring a friend. Maybe two.

Go to invisiblechildren.com to sign up.

p.s. If you're a student, it costs $20; if you're a normal person, it's $50;
and if money is a problem, feel free to contact Resolve Uganda at
lobbyday@resolveuganda . org. p.p.s. If you can't make it, call your Congressmen on Tuesday, February
26th. p.p.p.s. If you decide to go at the last minute, just show up. We'll sign
you up there.

Carl Funk and Larry Mason were part of the groundbreaking Seattle band The Allies. The band was known for producing innovative, original music with hits such as Emma Peel and Heartbroken Man, and for many years was recognized as one of the top rock bands working in the Seattle area. After The Allies, Mason went on to play drums with The Brandos in New York City, and enjoyed a successful career both in America and Europe. During this time Funk was a lyricist for The Brandos, helping pen some of their best known songs such as Gettysburg and Anna Lee, all the while continuing to perform in the Seattle area as a solo artist and songwriter. Funk released the well-received solo album The Heart of a Siren in 1996, and later rejoined Mason (now playing guitar) to record and play live as Funk Mason. Together they recorded the CD Resurrection, and have gained distinction for the depth and musicality of their songs and quality of their live shows, which are strong on vocals and well-balanced harmonies. With the release of the new CD In an Instant, Funk Mason have added another chapter to their full careers.
