This is another example of racism within the McCain Campaign. John McCain's attacks on Obama as Un-American are provoking people to inject racism in this campaign.

Police say a campaign volunteer confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter B in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker.

Pittsburgh police said a 20-year-old woman who originally said she was robbed and assaulted at knifepoint in Bloomfield because of her political views made the story up.

Ashley Todd -- who has a backward letter "B" scratched into her right cheek -- confessed to faking the story and will be charged with filing a false report, Assistant Police Chief Maurita Bryant said at a news conference Friday.

Todd, of College Station, Texas, admitted there was no robbery or attacker and said she had prior mental health problems, according to Bryant.

It's not yet clear whether Todd's face was mutilated by her, or if she had somebody else do it, because a police report states that she told them she can't remember.

Todd said she was driving around in her car, looked in her rear-view mirror, saw a "B," and the first thing she thought of was Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama.
Police tell KDKA that a campaign volunteer has now confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter B in her face after seeing her John McCain bumper sticker. Ashley Todd, 20, of Texas, initially told police that she was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield and that the suspect became enraged and started beating her after seeing her GOP sticker on her car. Police investigating the alleged attack, however, began to notice some inconsistencies in her story and administered a polygraph test.

The student, Ashley Todd, of College Station, Texas, initially said a black man robbed her at knifepoint Wednesday night and then cut her cheek after seeing a McCain sticker on her car.

Police say bank surveillance footage doesn't show her at an ATM where she says she was attacked.

Todd, who is white, now says she was knocked unconscious and doesn't remember being cut. She now says she only discovered the wound later.

Sam remembers his dear friend, Don LaFontaine who passed away suddenly on September 1, 2008.

Don LaFontaine is a native of Duluth, Minnesota. After graduating from High School, he joined the army and eventually was stationed at Fort Meyer, Virginia, outside of Washington DC. He was assigned to the United States Army Band and Chorus as a recording engineer.

After his discharge from the service, he moved to New York City where he found work at National Recording Studios as a sound engineer/editor. Late in 1962, he was assigned to a young radio producer named Floyd L. Peterson, who was creating radio commercials for "Dr. Strangelove". They worked so well together that, in January of 1963, LaFontaine joined Floyd Peterson, making it a two man operation, working out of Floyd's apartment.

Over the next couple of years, the company rapidly grew to employ thirty people and expanded into its own building; a carriage house on west 57th street. Floyd L. Peterson, Inc. was one of the first companies to work exclusively in motion picture advertising. Prior to that time, most film promotion was done in-house by the studios. It was during this period that the format for the modern Trailer (Previews of coming attractions) was developed, and LaFontaine and Peterson were among the first to create the catch phrases that still dominate trailers; "In a world", "A one-man army", "No where to run, no where to hide and no way out" etc.

In 1965, a mix-up in scheduling prevented an announcer from making a session, and LaFontaine was forced to create a "scratch" narration for radio spots for the film "Gunfighters Of Casa Grande" in order to present something to the client, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. To his surprise, they bought his performance, and over the next 16 years he voiced thousands of spots and hundreds of trailers.

He spent a number of years as a head of production for Kaleidoscope Films, Ltd; one of the premiere trailer production houses. In 1976, he started his own production company, Don LaFontaine Associates. His first assignment as an independent was "The Godfather, Part II."

In 1978 he was asked to join Paramount Pictures, heading up the trailer department. Over the next three years, he became literally the "Voice" of Paramount. In 1980 he was named Vice President, but he missed being involved in active production.

He left Paramount in 1981 and moved from New York to Los Angeles, again as an independent producer. One of his first phone calls was from a young agent named Steve Tisherman, who urged LaFontaine to pursue voice-overs more aggressively. He signed with Steve Tisherman, and never looked back.

Over the past 25 years, LaFontaine cemented his position as the "King of Voice-overs." Aside from his continuing work in the trailer industry, he has also been the voice of NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and UPN, in addition to TNT, TBS and the Cartoon Network. By conservative estimates, he has voiced hundreds of thousands of television and radio spots, including commercials for Chevrolet, Pontiac, Ford, Budweiser, McDonalds, Coke, and many other corporate sponsors. At last count, he has worked on nearly 5000 films, including appearances as the in-show announcer for the Screen Actors Guild and Academy Awards. Based on contracts signed, he has the distinction of being perhaps the single busiest actor in the history of SAG.

LaFontaine is married to Singer/Actress Nita Whitaker, and lives in Los Angeles.

He spoke with The UpTake's Ken Avidor about Monica Goodling, a former US Attorney and Bush political appointee, who is accused of finagling the firings of several left-leaning attorneys in order to, as Ellison says,"make sure she infuses the federal bureaucracy with a right-wing stamp."

Eliison also addresses the controversial Don Siegelman case, in which the former Democratic governor of Alabama was yanked out of office to fight corruption charges. A corrupt politician isn't news these days. What is news? The fact that Karl Rove has been accused of cooking up fictional scenarios to politically decapitate Siegelman, and has subsequently ignored subpeonas demanding he answer the charge. Will Rove go to federal prison?

Ok, here's why the right wing media can destroy the Republicans. They lost two major Republican seats in Illinois and Louisiana and held the seats of California and Indiana.

Rush Limbaugh, the most popular talk radio host and conservative "aficionado", has waged war against the Democratic presidential candidates. He started his Operation Chaos in regards to accepting the Republican Party's decision for Senator John McCain.

Rush Limbaugh is on 612 radio affiliates across the United States and Canada, and his impact does drive voters out to support conservative-leaning candidates.

But in regards to the Operation Chaos, his impact has made this race for the Democratic nomination quite longer. But in the states where Republican nominees running for Congress are having troubling races, its impact will help elect more Democrats to the Congress.

In that regards, I want to say congratulations to Jackie Speier, Andre Carson (Indiana), Bill Foster, and (extra big shout out to) Don Cazayoux who recently won his election. Best of luck to Thomas Childers on his race in Mississippi!

Carson, Foster, and Cazayoux, and Childers are conservative-leaning Democrats. Carson is the second Muslim elected in Congress.

These victories by Democrats have also help motivate more support towards the two Democratic candidates. And believe me the more the better. Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, as well as the rest of conservative talk radio, are causing damage to the Democratic Party. But it's really causing damage to the Republican Party.
Some Senators included those who supported Republicans such as independent-Democrat Joe Lieberman and former Senator Zell Miller. Other conservative leaning Democrats include: the Senators Mary Landrieu, Ben Nelson, Bob Casey, Evan Bayh, Dianne Feinstein, Bill Nelson, Jim Webb, Jon Tester, Claire Catskill, and Max Baucus.

House Representatives include: Gene Taylor, Zack Space, Loretta Sanchez, Jim Clyburn, Hank Johnson, Nick Lampson, Charlie Wilson, Patrick Murray, and John Salazar.

Anyways, let me explain how this may affect the Republicans! If a Republican switches parties and vote for either Senator Hillary Clinton (the presumed target) or Senator Barack Obama (the national frontrunner), his listeners wouldn't be able to vote in their own special elections. And that fuels more support towards the Democratic candidate.

Rush, I think you bitten off more than you can chew!

But in entertainment sense, he has the right to vent off against the Democrats. They are not doing what they are elected to do, and if we can sway conservatives to vote Democrat, then that may eventually help push some issues through Congress and the President.

Because people are tired of the divide and conquer strategy, we want answers, not bitching and hating.
