As I said:

For those wishful thinking Democrats who naively believe a Clinton-Obama ticket might come to pass, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi of California has the following home truths: "I think that ticket either way is impossible."
She then tartly reminded viewers Hillary's gang has already said that while the Republican candidate John McCain is ready to be commander-in-chief, Obama is not. That's why the "dream ticket" is just that, a dream.
Pelosi will chair the Democratic National Convention in Denver and while she says she is "uncommitted", her reference to the "Clinton Administration" in this video indicates that these powerful women may not see eye to eye on many things.

My Dream Ticket at the moment is one to Hawaii. Mmmm.

Pelosi is an uncommitted superdelegate. Here's more:

"I think that the Clinton administration has fairly ruled that out by proclaiming that Senator McCain would be a better commander-in-Chief than Obama," she said.
She spoke bluntly about her view that a joint ticket was not in the cards, she said, because "I wanted to be sure I didn't leave any ambiguity."

Obama won't do it. And Hillary's only pushing the story to ~~bamboozle~~ attract voters and superdelegates. Blunt enough? I don't want to leave any ambiguity.

I posted about this earlier, but it looks like HillBilly wants us all to post about it again, since they can't seem to let it drop:

Hillary and Bill Clinton are again teaming up on Barack Obama -- this time saying the first-term U.S. lawmaker, whom they have derided as inexperienced, would be a strong running mate on a Democratic presidential ticket headed by the former first lady.

I also posted about it here. What does that mean? That means this is one of those stories that's recycling and will start making us all nauseous, if it hasn't already. But watch out, HillBilly, it could be risky:

"The Clintons are in a difficult position," said Dennis Goldford, a political science professor at Drake University in Iowa, who has tracked the presidential race.
"If she wins the Democratic presidential nomination, she would need Obama's supporters. But she needs to be careful. If this talk of him on the ticket is seen as a cynical maneuver, it could backfire and hurt her," Goldford said.

It would be about time. She lost me at hello (must have been when she picked up that 3 a.m. call).

Former Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota, an Obama backer, mocked the idea.
"It may be the first time in history that the person who is running number two would offer the person running number one the number two position," Daschle told "Meet the Press."

John Kerry also nails it:

"So on the one end, they are saying he's not prepared to be president. On the other hand, they're saying maybe he ought to be vice president," Kerry said.

Kerry and Daschle made some excellent points. And as I said in my previous post, this is a bait and switch tactic. Obama would never accept the offer, if there even were to be one. Nobody should buy into it.

Whose "dream ticket" is this, anyway? Why are the Clintons talking it up so much?

[O]ne resident asked if Hillary would pick Obama as her Vice President. It is a question that Clinton is very familiar with, having been asked it nearly once a day back in the days of Iowa and New Hampshire. Usually, President Clinton shies away from answering, explaining that his family is VERY superstitious when it comes to politics and they never go thinking they've won before they really have.
Today, however, the President seemed especially tickled by the answer, and chose to share with his personal thoughts on picking Obama as a VP.
"She said yesterday and she said the day after her big wins in Texas and Ohio and Rhode Island that she was very open to that and I think she answered explicitly yes yesterday," Clinton began, referring to Hillary's own answers on the topic in recent days.
"I know that she has always been open to it, because she believes that if you can unite the energy and the new people that he’s brought in and the people in these vast swaths of small town and rural America that she’s carried overwhelmingly, if you had those two things together she thinks it’d be hard to beat. I mean you look at the, you look at the, you look at the map of Texas and the map in Ohio. And the map in Missouri or -- well Arkansas’s not a good case because they know her and she won every place there. But you look at most of these places, he would win the urban areas and the upscale voters, and she wins the traditional rural areas that we lost when President Reagan was president. If you put those two things together, you’d have an almost unstoppable force," Clinton went on to say.

Hillary will use that to entice voters who want them both on one ticket. Then what? It won't happen, that's what. It's a vote-getter, period.

Plus, Obama would never ask her to be his running mate, nor would she accept.

This is simply and obviously a way to get voters away from Obama, suggesting that they'd get a "twofer", a tantalizing come-on that will mutate quickly into a bait and switch.

Don't get fooled into believing this one.

George Bush, 2002: "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

Hillary flirts with the possibility of a "Dream Ticket"

Will there eventually be a "Dream Ticket" consisting of Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama? Hillary teases us a little:

Sen. Hillary Clinton was interviewed on the Tavis Smiley Show and guess what -- she's talking up the Clinton/Obama "dream ticket."
Doing that allows her to convey to voters that maybe they don't have to choose between her and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois. Maybe they can have them both!

Don't toy with us like that! Not unless you mean it...

“I think last night on the stage seeing the two of us was just so exciting for so many people,” she tells Smiley. “I can’t tell you how many calls and e-mails I’ve gotten from people who never cared about politics that much but they are just thrilled at that.”

No, no, don't start with the flowers and candy. Not that! I can't take it. I just can't take it! You know I can't resist, you know how weak I am... Now, come give us a kiss...

Clinton supporters are playing up this "dream ticket." Obama supporters are not.

Wow. Talk about a cold shower.

Make no mistake -- the smiles, hugs, and chivalry on display for voters last night belie an intense dislike the two candidates have for one another.

But..but... it all seemed so....sincere. I sensed a connection. I felt a bond.

Obama resents the race-baiting campaigning the Clintons have engaged in.
The Clintons see Obama as standing in her way, and belittling their legacy.

But you make such a handsome couple!

Enemies have joined together before -- witness JFK and VP LBJ.

Yes! Yes! Opposites attract! There's a kind of irresistible lure...of a winning ticket...just waiting... sooo tempting...

But, as Donna Brazile says, this isn't a dream ticket -- it's a fantasy ticket.
"There is blood on the ground," Brazile says.

::Loud needle scratching across a record:: Silence.
