&lt;p&gt;Middle East and Islamic movement analyst Jonathan Paris contrasts French and British approaches to domestic anti-terrorism.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Transatlantic Institute hosts Jonathan Paris, London-based Middle East and Islamic movement analyst, to discuss a comparison between French and British approaches to confronting radical Islam.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Jonathan S. Paris is a London-based Middle East and Islamic movement analyst. He has completed two studies for the U.S. Department of Defense, a diagnostic study on the Future of Saudi Arabia in 2003 and a study on Radical Islam in Europe in 2006. From 1995 to 2000, he was a Middle East Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;He comments on  CNN, BBC, Sky News, Fox News, and NBC News, and has written for  Foreign Affairs, the Financial Times, New York Sun, Baltimore Sun, and Asharq Alawsat, an Arab daily newspaper based in London. He co-edited the first book on Indonesia&#8217;s democratic transition, The Politics of Post-Suharto Indonesia (Council on Foreign Relations, 1999), and from 1994-97 lectured at Yale University on Islam and Politics in the Middle East and the Arab-Israeli conflict.&lt;/p&gt;

John McCain paid a visit to the Hoover Institution at Stanford University to talk about America's suffering international image, his proposal for a "League of Democracies" and his support for pressing on with additional troops in Iraq. -- Hoover Institution&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;John Sidney McCain III, is the Republican senior U.S. Senator from Arizona. He is currently the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, and serves on the Armed Services, and Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committees. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;He was a presidential candidate in the 2000 election, but was defeated by George W. Bush for the Republican nomination. McCain formally announced his candidacy for the 2008 presidential election on April 25, 2007.&lt;/p&gt;
