<p>Three British men have been found guilty of conspiring to use homemade liquid bombs to kill people.</p>
<p>They were cleared along with five others, of planning to bomb transatlantic airliners in an al-Qaeda-style attack. </p>
<p>However the jury found just three of them guilty and of a lesser charge.</p>
<p>When their plot was discovered in 2006, thousands of flights around the world were disrupted and new restrictions were imposed banning passengers from taking liquids on board aircrafts.</p>
<p>Al Jazeera's Harry Smith reports.</p>
