He was a presidential candidate in the 2000 election, but was defeated by George W. Bush for the Republican nomination. McCain formally announced his candidacy for the 2008 presidential election on April 25, 2007.

Walter Isaacson is the President and CEO of the Aspen Institute. He has been the Chairman and CEO of CNN and the Managing Editor of Time Magazine. He is the author of Benjamin Franklin: An American Life (2003) and of Kissinger: A Biography (1992) and is the coauthor of The Wise Men: Six Friends and the World They Made (1986). His biography of Albert Einstein - Einstein: His Life and Universe - was released in April 2007.

Whether its for the first time ever, or the first time today, coming out may be the most important thing you do today.
We are sons and daughters, doctors and lawyers, teachers, and construction workers. We serve in congress, protect our country on the front lines, and contribute to the well being of this nation at every level.
Being open in your personal life is important to building closer relationships with your family and friends.
There is no right or wrong way to come out. Its a lifelong process of always being open and true with yourself and others- just do it in your own way, and in your own time.
Being open politically is equally important and can help change the world for young gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people who will follow us.
Educate yourself on LGBT political issues, and talk about them with friends and family during elections. We have the power to change thoughts and minds all across the nation.

Israel and the US pulled out of Durban I, claiming it was anti-semitic, and Neuer believes that the only way to avert a similar disaster at Durban II (to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, in April 2009) is for the EU to threaten a boycott.

Joining the programme from London, Islamic Human Rights Commission Chair Massoud Shadjareh argues that Durban II should move forward as planned and that putting the issue of Israel's treatment of the Palestinians is necessary if racism is to be truly addressed.
