In January 2001 and May 2002, he was the President of the U.N. Security Council.</p> <p>After serving in the Singapore Foreign Ministry for 33 years, Mr. Mahbubani became Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore in August 2004.</p> <p>Mr. Mahbubani is the author of two books, Can Asians Think? - and the just published Beyond The Age of Innocence: Rebuilding Trust Between America and the World. </p> <p>Mr. Mahbubani received a Masters degree in Philosophy in 1976 from Dalhousie University, Canada and an honorary doctorate in 1995.
