First they have trouble keeping track of her during her Diane Sawyer interview and now this:

From a TVNewser insider: After escorting Jenna Bush into The Early Show this morning for an interview, secret service agents went back outside the studios at 59th & 5th Avenue to wait for the interview to end. When they got to the car, they discovered they were locked out. We're told the first daughter left in another car.

Bush can't even keep his own daughter safe. How's that whole threat level chart going, guys?

Let me start by saying Jenna Bush was pleasant, seemed good-hearted, and blander than I thought she'd be. And by bland I mean what you'd expect from someone obviously prepped and careful to avoid her father's verbal blunders. So here's what I can remember from Jenna's Big Interview:

Jenna's parents never get mad at her. No, really, they don't, 'cause they love her soooo much! Even when she was underage and used a fake I.D. to buy alcohol. They were more like the, "What were you thinking?" than the "You are so grounded!" type of parents. But they never get into fights with her. I sweartogod.

In other words, it seemed as if the deed itself was acceptable, but the bad publicity wasn't.

And besides, she was in college, she says. She was just a kid, she says. Who wasn't wise yet, she says. And she's still not wise yet, but wiser. And omg, that was, like, 7 years ago!

Did you know her favorite thing to do is to be all sedate and go to concerts and have quiet time with her close friends?

And remember that whole tongue-sticking-out thing? Pshhthat was just kidding around with President Daddy in the Big Limo! Omg, that was my most memorable moment for you guyses? Really? I thought it would be when I flashed everyone at the beach! (Okay, she didn't say that, but I bet she was thinking it)

And she's like, really really good with kids and teaches and junk.

Actually, she is. And does.

And for her book? The one she wrote, you know? Um, okay, so she went out after dark to a really, really bad neighborhood with gangs and bad guys who could hurt her as she and her new bff Diane Sawyer snuck out with a camera crew with Secret Service guyses all around them and stuff and junk. And that wasn't wise.

Did you know she's delightfully effervescent? Now you do.

Did you know she could get suddenly glum? Now you do. Cuz, like, "Iraq is very complicated."

Did you know that she didn't sign up to go there cuz she can serve her country as a teacher instead?

"Obviously, I understand that question and see what the point of that question is for sure," Jenna says in the ABC interview with admirable self-reflection.

Fer sure! Like, I totally get that. And I say that with admirable self-reflection.

So, 'k, anyhoo, she wrote the Awesome Book. And it's about AIDS and...condoms. But Diane says that's tricky cuz Daddy's all anti-condom (cuz birth control is bad, right?), but Jenna's like, it's all kewl, cuz she's not "part of the administration."

But the best quote of the night was from a wonderful young woman who spoke with Jenna and Diane, and didn't realize that Jenna was the daughter of the president of the United States. When she was finally told, she popped out with,

"But you're so simple!...She's just so simple!"

I couldn't have said it better myself.
