more at www.theuptake.org

Coleman Campaign Admits Finally (sort of) That We Are Media

When you call a press conference, it is usually to disseminate information. Not so with the Norm Coleman campaign this election season. The Coleman campaign has repeatedly denied The UpTake and other independent media access to its press conferences when they are held at the campaign's headquarters.

But when the press conference is held in a public building such as the State Office Building as it was on Tuesday, the Coleman campaign has no authority to deny anyone access. So Coleman spokesperson Mark Drake came up with another way to either prevent us from asking questions or perhaps protect the campaign from answering them. He refused to give The UpTake's Mike McIntee a copy of the lawsuit because we "have an axe to grind". Drake offered no evidence of that.

That led to some interesting moments during the press conference and finally the Coleman campaign admitting (sort of) that The UpTake is a "legitimate" media organization with a "very fair" reporter.

Former Ohio Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate J. Kenneth Blackwell is running for the chairmanship of the Republican Party. An African American Republican, Blackwell was the first African American in my state of Ohio to run for the governor office.

Unlike most Republicans and conservatives who try to paint African Americans as "racist" for supporting Democratic President Barack Obama, the Republican Ken Blackwell gained less than 20% of the African American vote in a lopsided governor's race. Overwhelmingly African Americans supported Democratic governor Ted Strickland, a former congressman from Lisbon, Ohio.

Now in a sense of redemption, Blackwell is competing with fellow African American Republican, former lieutenant governor of Maryland, Michael Steele, former Tennessee Republican leader Chip Saltsman, and current leader Mike Duncan. Each seek viable gains as leader of the Republican National Committee.

Could Blackwell win over the Republicans?

The Politico listed the endorsements of some of the leading conservatives.
-Gary Aldrich, Chairman, CNP Action Inc.
-Morton C. Blackwell, Virginia Republican National Committeeman
-Robert B. Bluey, Contributing Editor, RedState
-L. Brent Bozell, Founder and President, Media Research Center
-Kellyanne Conway, CEO and President, the polling company, inc./WomanTrend
-T. Kenneth Cribb Jr., Former Domestic Adviser to President Reagan
-James C. Dobson, Ph.D., Founder and Chairman, Focus on the Family
-Becky Norton Dunlop, President, Council for National Policy
-Stuart W. Epperson, Chairman, Salem Communications Corp.
-Steve Forbes, Chairman & CEO, Forbes Media
-Dr. Ronald Godwin, Vice Chancellor, Liberty University
-Rebecca Hagelin, Author and Conservative Columnist
-Colin Hanna, President, Let Freedom Ring
-David Keene, Chairman, American Conservative Union
-Tim LaHaye, Founder and President, Tim LaHaye Ministries
-Ed Meese, Past President, Council for National Policy
-Phyllis Schlafly, President, Eagle Forum
-Pat Toomey, President, Club for Growth
-Richard Viguerie, Chairman, ConservativeHQ.com

Included in this video, the controversies surrounding the senate seats being vacated by Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama and of course the Minnesota U.S. Senate recount. Could it be Senate-elect Al Franken or incumbent Senator Norm Coleman?

Caroline Kennedy and Roland Burris are interested in filling the positions. Senate Majority Leader Nevada Democrat Harry Reid is concerned about each nominee. Burris is tainted, Caroline has little experience and Republicans will filibuster Franken.

Thanks for viewing. Thank all the supporters of my videos. To all critics and those who blindly trust the media! Turn that television, radio and internet smear machine off. Franken says he had no prior knowledge or involvement in bringing the suit that alleges money was funneled to Coleman by one of his wealthy supporters.
More at www.theuptake.org
An unmarked envelope arrives for two investigative reporters at the local newspaper. Inside are papers that will be filed in court next week linking the state's Senior US Senator to a complicated plan to funnel him money from a wealthy businessman to his wife.

It sounds like a scene from "All The Presidents Men". But unlike that movie which was based on real life, this scene is based upon a fantasy in Senator Norm Coleman's head if you believe the Managing Editor at the Star Tribune.

Friday, Senator Coleman accused the Star Tribune of having documents from the potentially politically damaging lawsuit long before they were actually filed in a Texas court.

Star Tribune Managing Editor Rene Sanchez says that is simply not true. Sanchez old MinnPost that "we did not get a copy of this lawsuit until it was filed Monday."

It was questions from the Star Tribune's investigative reporters earlier this week that tipped other media off to the story. At a campaign event in St. Cloud, Senator Coleman refused to answer or even acknowledge the reporters who asked him about the lawsuit and payments of $75,000 to his wife from a Texas company controlled by a wealthy Coleman supporter.

On Friday Coleman said the lawsuit, filed by Republican Paul McKim, was politically motivated and indicated it was the work of his opponent Al Franken calling it "sleazy" and "11th hour".

Lawyers in Minnesota who examined the lawsuit documents were reasonably sure politics was not the primary motivation in the lawsuit. Talk show host and lawyer Mark Heaney and election law specialist Christian Sande examined the documents on Heaney's show this week.

Heaney noted that the firm filing the lawsuit was a reputable one, and would probably not risk that reputation by being involved in a lawsuit that had no basis.

Sande commented that this was really a lawsuit about a fired CEO trying to obtain money from his former employer. Sande suggested the Coleman allegations were probably included ...
