<p><p>We'll miss you pal. </p><p>As will African Americans throughout the land who have been touched by your public service, whether it was fighting to keep black students out of Ole Miss when you were in student government there or your more recent ode to the late Strom Thurmond.</p><p>Somewhere, I'm sure, Strom is crying. <a href="http://cliffschecter.bravenewfilms.org/blog/19697-breaking-trent-lott-r-miss-to-retire-by-end-of-year">But say hi to K Street for us!</a></p><p>P.S. This seat may be in play. If former AG Mike Moore runs (not that one, the one made famous by the film <em>The Insider</em>, who stood up to tobacco companies and got a record settlement for their lies about the addictive nature of their product), he would be at least a 50-50 chance to steal this open seat for the Ds.</p></p>
