I never leave home without my "Race Card!"

Even sarcastically, many of the critics here believe that African Americans play the "Race Card", "Victim Card" and "Entitlement Card". We can credit the "phony outrage" to the Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

We are witnessing a great movement in history. Electing Senator Barack Obama as our president. There are some still in disbelief that an African American is to lead our nation. And many things that are happening are become a disturbing pattern. Our great nation still has to overcome the issues of race and gender!

Not even January 20, 2009. The chatter is increasing from The DUMB Right. For starters you notice, the fight is not over!

Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, The Drudge Report and the many others that take pride in being stupid are mounting a full assault on Barack Obama.

Barack Obama is in transition [honeymoon] and preparing for the mantle.

We are final months of The Bush Administration.

I will elaborate on things I seen from The Drudge Report, ABC News, The Raw Story, Huffington Post and The Politico.

Thanks for viewing. Thank all the supporters of my videos. To all critics and those who blindly trust the media! Turn that television, radio and internet smear machine off. Let real media analysis do the work for you. I am not a fact-checker, journalist or media analysis. I am expressing an honest opinion about the general election and the corrupt mainstream media. And as always, if present any errors in the making of this video, please don't hesitate to send a message and I will correct the record on the next video. Lastly, to all the critics watching worldwide, do me a favor by: "Proving Me Wrong"!

Political scientist Melissa Harris-Lacewell examines how Barack Obama may affect Americans' conceptualization of race and the Presidency, should he be elected to the position.

-----

Barack Obama's success so far in the 2008 election cycle has fostered optimistic rhetoric in mainstream media about race relations in the United States.

But does Obama's candidacy transform Martin Luther King Jr.'s American dream into a reality?

A recent New York Times/CBS poll found that Americans are sharply divided by race on their views of Senator Obama and the state of race relations.

In addition, with an increased presence of other minority groups, issues regarding race in political and social life are no longer black and white.

What role does race play in the 2008 election and beyond?

Can America ever truly be a color-blind society? - The Century Foundation

Melissa Victoria Harris-Lacewell is an American writer and political scientist and Associate Professor of Politics and African American studies at Princeton University. She received her B.A. in English from Wake Forest University, her Ph.D. in political science from Duke University and an honoris causa doctorate from Meadville Lombard Theological School. She is the author of Barbershops, Bibles, and BET: Everyday Talk and Black Political Thought on the methods African Americans use to develop political ideas through ordinary conversations in places like barbershops, churches, and popular culture. The work was awarded the 2005 W.E.B. DuBois book award from the National Conference of Black Political Scientists. Harris-Lacewell's writings have been published in the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Crain's Chicago Business and Newsday. She has provided commentary for NBC News, Fox News, Showtime, HBO, Black Enterprise, National Public Radio and other radio and print sources.

... until election day!

VOTE for Barack Obama and Joe Biden on November 4th!

http://barackobama.com

Barack Obama was raised by a single mother and his grandparents. They didn't have much money, but they taught him values from the Kansas heartland where they grew up. He took out loans to put himself through school. After college, he worked for Christian churches in Chicago, helping communities devastated when steel plants closed. Obama turned down lucrative job offers after law school to return to Chicago, leading a successful voter registration drive. He joined a small law firm, taught constitutional law and, guided by his Christian faith, stayed active in his community. Obama and his wife Michelle are proud parents of two daughters, Sasha and Malia.

He was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. His father, Barack Obama Sr., was born and raised in a small village in Kenya, where he grew up herding goats with his own father, who was a domestic servant to the British.

Barack's mother, Ann Dunham, grew up in small-town Kansas. Her father worked on oil rigs during the Depression, and then signed up for World War II after Pearl Harbor, where he marched across Europe in Patton's army. Her mother went to work on a bomber assembly line, and after the war, they studied on the G.I. Bill, bought a house through the Federal Housing Program, and moved west to Hawaii.

It was there, at the University of Hawaii, where Barack's parents met. His mother was a student there, and his father had won a scholarship that allowed him to leave Kenya and pursue his dreams in America.

Barack's father eventually returned to Kenya, and Barack grew up with his mother in Hawaii, and for a few years in Indonesia. Later, he moved to New York, where he graduated from Columbia University in 1983.

Remembering the values of empathy and service that his mother taught him, Barack put law school and corporate life on hold after college and moved to Chicago in 1985, where he became a community organizer with a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment.

He went on to earn his law degree from Harvard in 1991, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. Soon after, he returned to Chicago to practice as a civil rights lawyer and teach constitutional law. Finally, his advocacy work led him to run for the Illinois State Senate, where he served for eight years. In 2004, he became the third African American since Reconstruction to be elected to the U.S. Senate.

It has been the rich and varied experiences of Barack Obama's life - growing up in different places with people who had differing ideas - that have animated his political journey. Amid the partisanship and bickering of today's public debate, he still believes in the ability to unite people around a politics of purpose - a politics that puts solving the challenges of everyday Americans ahead of partisan calculation and political gain.

In the Illinois State Senate, this meant working with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. He also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

As a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan. Recognizing the terrorist threat posed by weapons of mass destruction, he traveled to Russia with Republican Dick Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world. And knowing the threat we face to our economy and our security from America's addiction to oil, he's working to bring auto companies, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians of both parties together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards in our cars.

Whether it's the poverty exposed by Katrina, the genocide in Darfur, or the role of faith in our politics, Barack Obama continues to speak out on the issues that will define America in the 21st century. But above all his accomplishments and experiences, he is most proud and grateful for his family. His wife, Michelle, and his two daughters, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, live on Chicago's South Side.

-------------------------

BOK Center opens with a multifaith blessing
http://tinyurl.com/sambok2

Music rocked the BOK Center downtown Sunday afternoon as thousands gathered for a multifaith celebration and blessing of the new building.

Fired by a 450-voice choir from about 85 houses of worship, the crowd often rose to its feet in applause and joined in the singing.

Recording artist Sam Harris, a native of the Tulsa area, said he was thrilled to be at the celebration, which was part of the grand opening for the arena.

"What a blessing it is to be in this place," he said while catching his breath after belting out, "Change Is on the Way," from his album "Free."

Harris was backed by the New Dimensions Chorale.

He asked the audience to join him in an old favorite children's worship song with the lyrics: "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine."

He urged the audience to "seek goodness everywhere, and wherever it is found, let it be free and unashamed."

Master of ceremonies John Erling quipped: "This is the day that the taxpayers have made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it."

He thanked Rick Fortner, music director at All Souls Unitarian Church, for providing the spark years ago that resulted in the celebration, and for directing the community choir.

Near the end of the celebration, 11 faith leaders representing the major religions of the world offered prayers of blessing for the new facility.

Sitting side-by-side on the podium were spiritual leaders who were Methodist, Charismatic, Roman Catholic, Mormon, Greek Orthodox, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Unitarian, Buddhist and African Methodist Episcopal.

"We decided to call it a multifaith event, rather than an interfaith event, which carries some connotations," said Jim Mishler, executive director of Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry, who helped plan the celebration.

"We asked faith leaders to pray in their own tradition."

As a result, several leaders used the term "in Jesus' name," a phrase generally frowned upon at interfaith events.

Another prayed to Allah in Arabic, and another prayed in Sanskrit. Bishop Edward J. Slattery, of the Catholic Diocese of Tulsa, prayed in Spanish.

English translations of the foreign language prayers were displayed on the scoreboard as the leaders prayed.

A common theme running through the prayers was that the arena would be a blessing to the Tulsa community.

Erling said the participation of such diverse faith leaders at one event "has probably never been done in our city to this degree."

Mayor Kathy Taylor and BOK Center General Manager John Bolton spoke briefly.

As the crowd streamed out of the arena, Jeramy Auld said of the celebration, "I thought it was great."

"We're taxpayers," his wife Libby Auld said. "We thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be here."

Political commentator Tucker Carlson discusses the RNC, political discourse on the internet, and his predictions for the 2008 Presidential elections in an interview with FORA.tv CEO Brian Gruber. This interview was recorded at the Republican National Convention on September 1, 2008.

FORA.tv coverage of the RNC: fora.tv

-----

Tucker Carlson is a conservative political commentator currently best known for formally being co-host of Crossfire, CNN's once-popular and lively political debate program. Crossfire aired nightly before a live studio audience from George Washington University's Jack Morton Auditorium in Washington, D.C. In 2002, Crossfire celebrated its 20th anniversary. Carlson left Crossfire in January 6, 2005 and the show was canceled on June 3, 2005.

Carlson is also a political analyst for CNN, based in the network's Washington, D.C., bureau. Before The Situation, Unfiltered and Crossfire, Carlson was co-host of CNN's Spin Room.

Carlson currently hosts The Situation with Tucker Carlson, a light hearted news-themed show on MSNBC. On The Situation a stream of recent headlines are brought before Carlson and his two panelists, each of who reside on opposite ends of the political spectrum. This leads to fast paced, thought provoking discussions although far from comprehensive.

Since 1997, he has appeared weekly on Inside Politics with Judy Woodruff, the nation's first program devoted exclusively to politics.

Formerly a staff writer at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock, Carlson is a contributor to New York Magazine and The Weekly Standard, as well as a columnist for Readers Digest. He has written for dozens of magazines and newspapers, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, GQ and Forbes.

Brian Gruber is Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of FORA.tv. Gruber has twenty years experience successfully building and marketing media enterprises.
Aymara and Quechua Indians make up the majority of Bolivia's population.

But it was not until two and a half years ago that an Aymara Indian, Evo Morales, was sworn in as the country's president.

Despite that historic event, the nation's indigenous peoples continue to face serious obstacles to equality, as Al Jazeera's Lucia Newman reports.

Complete video at: fora.tv

New York Times sports columnist William Rhoden gives his take on professional athletes as cultural role models, using Muhammad Ali as an example.

-----

Athletes as Role Models in the Steroids Era

The Mitchell report revelations of baseball's "steroids era" led to outrage and dismay. Now the government is involved, with Roger Clemens testifying before Congress. But that's not all - 2007 turned out to be a year of scandal in sports: Michael Vick's dogfighting, Bill Belichick's "spy-gate" and Isiah Thomas' sexual harassment trial, to name a few. In light of all this, many have criticized professional athletes for unacceptable behavior. But are athletes held to a higher standard? Should they be judged as role models? At a time when the sports pages seem to contain more social commentary than game breakdowns, the NY Salon has assembled a panel of experts to discuss what this all means for both the sports world and our society at large - NY Salon

William C. Rhoden has been writing about sports for The New York Times since March 1983. Previously, he was a copy editor in the Sunday Week in Review section since October 1981 when he joined the newspaper. Author of Forty Million Dollar Slaves: The Rise, Fall, and Redemption of the Black Athlete.
