Today, a diplomatic crisis deepens in Bolivia and Venezuela. Both countries have expelled their US ambassadors. The US has responded in kind.</p>
<p>But the diplomatic spat has overshadowed the deaths of some 30 campesinos in El Porvenir, Pando, near Bolivia's northeastern border with Brazil. What is the nature of the conflict, who is fighting whom, and what role has the United States played in fomenting opposition to Evo Morales? </p>

<p>Third-party candidates this morning (Thursday), highlighting their shared frustration with the two-party system.</p>
<p>Presidential elections turn out to be a charade more than anything else, Paul said, and so he urged his supporters to vote for candidates who would expand the debate beyond the major partys platforms.</p>
<p>A phone call from McCain backer Phil Gramm yesterday was not enough to garner Pauls endorsement and didnt stop the Texas congressman from gathering the welterweights of the presidential race for an announcement of their common principles.</p>
<p>In addition to railing against the Democrats and Republicans</p>
<p>control over national politics, Paul and his guests outlined four common principles they saw the major parties ignoring. The diverse coalition expressed their common concern over an increasingly aggressive foreign policy, the erosion of civil liberties, the growth of the national debt and commercial influence over federal monetary policy.</p>
<p>The candidates assembled in agreement were the Constitution Partys Chuck Baldwin, a former officer in Jerry Falwells Moral Majority; the Green Partys Cynthia McKinney, a six-term Democratic congresswoman who had made a declaration of independence from this current political system; and independent candidate Ralph Nader, whom many consider partly responsible for Al Gores 2000 loss to George W. <p><p>...So McSame cancelled his interview.......I suppose he'll find a kinder format with faux news and company.</p><p>All a Governor does is request...I repeat....REQUEST the National Guard's assistance at a state level. The Guard has its own Generals in place to COMMAND the troops. </p><p>Once deployed by the Federal....all state input is nil....All Palin did was VISIT the Alaskan National Guard and to insinuate that she was somehow commanding troops in Kuwait is total absurdity! (And she had to get a passport for that excursion....she'd never been out of the country before). sheeeeeesh</p></p>

<br />COLORADO — A measure that would make executives criminally liable if their companies commit fraud will appear on November's statewide ballot.</p>
<p>If voters approve it, Colorado could become the toughest state in the nation on corporate fraud, according to the Protect Colorado's Future coalition backing the proposal. Business groups have opposed the measure, saying it would make the state a less desirable place to locate companies.</p>
<p>The secretary of state's office certified that the petition to get the initiative on the ballot had received more than enough valid signatures to qualify.</p>
<p>The corporate fraud proposal has been designated as Amendment 53. </p>

<p>August 27, 2008 -- Citizen Kate gets an exclusive DNC interview with Ralph Nader, and finds out the key to independent presidential success -- Alternative Media.</p>
<p>On the third day of the Democratic National Convention, I had the interview that none of the other major media was capturing. I met up with Ralph Nader moments before his big speech. </p>
<p>He informed me that the Democratic Party and the Republicans are selling out America. I like sales, but would rather pay full price for quality goods. And corporations are really buying government.</p>
<p>I also discovered that alternative media (like me) plays a key role in helping any presidential nominee. Especially the independent guys.</p>
<p>I guess I should really think about who I vote for.</p>
<p>Note to self: Presidential candidates and politicians needs Alternative Media too.</p>
