<br />AUDIENCE MEMBER: "After 9/11, the United States and the economy took a tragic fall. [...] The American automotive industry was the first to stand up and do something for our country. We provided rebates to get the economy going again. And since then, we've continued giving rebates and giving our products away for next to nothing to a point that our companies are now on a very uneven path and our future is uncertain. I understand technology will advance us, but when is the government going to stick up for the people that first stepped up to put this country back on track after 9/11?"
<br />JOHN MCCAIN: "Well first of all as I have said I would support tax credits for Americans who choose to buy the Volt and other, and other automobiles that put us on the path to energy independence. I believe that the Federal government should invest in pure research and development. I think as you know one of the hurdles to development of any electric automobile is of course the battery issue. [...] I'd be glad and would strongly support pure research and development in the development of this battery with greater capacity, less weight, and is more disposable. So, there are many ways that I would be glad to support this industry. </p>
<p>"But at the end of the day, there are problems, some of which have been addressed, between labor and management. I have to give you some straight talk. You can't compete with other automobile manufacturers if you lay somebody off and pay them full salary for the rest of their life. Can't do it. It's not going to be competitive. So, I will do everything that I can to support this industry." </p>

<br />JOHN MCCAIN: "I think that WTO options [against China] have to exercised more strenuously where there are violations. I think that it's very clear that they have a huge environmental challenge in China. We see manifestations of that as far away as the United States of America.</p>
<p>"We're going to have to, I think, enforce existing agreements that we have with them to do everything we can to restore confidence in the American people that their competition is not an unfair one. I can't adjust wage levels between the US and China, but I can make sure that they don't engage [...] in illegal dumping into the United States because that's clearly in violation of the WTO agreements. So I think I would enforce, through existing organizations and existing agreements, violations or prosecution of violations of fundamentals of the free trade we're supposed to be engaging in."</p>

<br />JOHN MCCAIN: "I have to tell you, if I were President of the United States, the next toy that came into this country from China that endangered our children—it would be the last toy that came in from—from—from that country. So I worry about China [...] in a broad variety of ways. This latest situation with Tibet. </p>
<p>"My friends, you can't repress people. You can't oppress people and expect to be a partner in the world. And what the Chinese have done as regards Tibet, they are paying a price for now. They're paying a price for in the court of world public opinion.</p>
<p>"Now, having said that—and that's why, if I were President of the United States today, I would say, I'm gonna reserve judgment as to whether I go to the opening ceremonies or not.' I think it would be directly related to the Chinese treatment of this Tibetan issue. They've got to give those people some autonomy.</p>
<p>They need to talk with the Dali Lama who is one of the great heroes in the world and they've got a lot of work to do on imagery, but more importantly the Chinese, I think have got to start making progress in democracy, observing of human rights. They are the world's superpower. They are becoming and they are a world superpower and we have to recognize that.</p>
<p>"The contemplation of conflict with China is not imaginable. It's not imaginable, but there's a lot of things that we can do to try to bring about improvement in Chinese behavior and I think many of those are a very firm position on our respect for human rights and progress. I also think that we have to understand that China will be a super power. </p>
<p>"There's a lot of things they have done, which are a laudable. And there's a lot of things such as this Tibetan situation, which are not. So I would try to deal even-handedly with China.</p>
<p>"I would try to bring about as good a—they know it's in their interest to try to improve their image in the world. [...] But, for us to deny that China will not be a superpower in the world, is defiance of reality. [...]</p>

And they're not only building nuclear weapons, they are exporting into Iraq, as we speak, the most lethal explosive devices that are killing young Americans that are serving our country there. It's got to be stopped. My friends, I'm sure you may have seen that the state of Israel has had to respond to attacks across from Gaza into Israel in the form of rocket attacks that are killing innocent men, women, and children. My friends, we will not allow Israel to be destroyed by the forces of terror in the form of Hamas."</p>

<p>BBC reported that WTC Building 7 fell from a fire, the problem is it was still standing. How did they know that information before it fell. Watch very carefully it is this incident that did not sit well with me. It is something that the media and pro 911 do not want you to see. It was left out of the official 911 Commission Report. Open your eyes never in the history has a building collapsed free fall from a fire!</p>

<p>April 8th, 2008. The line was huge at the Senate Foreign Relations hearing in which General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker were to testify. Several CPDEPINK women were dressed as mourning mothers. As they waited to enter the hearing, they sang a Hymn for Suffering Mothers by Betsy Rose.</p>

<p>Tensions are growing between one of America's strongest Latin American allies and one of its foes. Will Colombia ever be able to pacify a guerrilla movement with a forty years history of violence? Or will the U.S. have to continue to pour billions of dollars to prop them up?
<br />Colombia's once friendly relationship with neighboring Venezuela is now strained. Venezuela claims the U.S. government is promoting violence in the region to advance Washington's own agenda.
<br />For close to half a century Colombia has struggled with internal unrest. Violence in some parts of the country is not only rampant, but has become a way of life. At the root is the guerrilla movement suspected of being financed by drug money; years ago they turned to kidnapping to raise additional funds and to put pressure on the government. But support for this guerrilla movement seems to be eroding - people in Colombia are fed up with the violence and instability. Recently, people marched in the street against the situation in the country.

<br />Por casi medio siglo Colombia ha luchado con un malestar político interno. La violencia en algunos lugares del país es no solamente licenciosa pero se ha vuelto una manera de vivir. A la raíz se haya una guerrilla susceptible de ser financiada por el dinero de la droga, desde hace algunos años están realizando secuestros para obtener más fondos y continuar presionando al gobierno. Pero el apoyo popular para la guerrilla se ha deteriorado, la gente en Colombia esta harta de la violencia y la inestabilidad y se han volcado recientemente a las calles para protestar en contra de la situación en el país.</p>
