He was jailed in 2000, for "tarnishing Egypt's image," and sentenced to seven years in prison.

The wheat crisis is caused by a nexus of factors - drought in Australia, growing demand in Asia, market speculation, and even the use of food to make biofeuls. The effects make clear that the global economy is, for some, a trap they cannot see, or escape.
