1902 - Buck McGovern and the capture of the Biddle Boys.

"During the search for and capture of the Biddles, bad blood emerged between Buck McGovern's posse and Sheriff Hoon's men. Hoon's officers were instructed not to let McGovern or his men inside the Butler County Jail after the Biddles were taken in. When McGovern arrived he was met at the door by a group of Hoon's men, all armed, who told him that he and his men were not permitted inside. Buck McGovern and his posse drew their revolvers and McGovern yelled. "Like Hell we ain't, they're my prisoners" and the posse stormed into the jail. Charges and countercharges were filed by both departments but the complaints were dropped after some time had passed.

"Kate Soffel and the bodies of Jack and Ed Biddle were returned to Allegheny County by train. Crowds formed during the procession from the station to the morgue, not to welcome back the triumphant police, but to bemoan the fate of the infamous Biddle brothers who, by their deeds, had become folk heroes."

In the early 1980's Roger wrote a screenplay about his father and the Biddle Boys.

He sent the script to Edgar J. Scherick who said he was not interested in the story. One month later there was a pre-production crew in Pittsburgh.
Mel Gibson and Diane Keaton were hired to play the leads. The story was public domain. There was no need to involve Roger.

In 2007, WWE Wrestler Chris Benoit killed his family then himself. This incident spearheaded the involvement of the Senate to investigate the use of steroids in sports, entertainment and music.

Roger Clemens, Berry Bonds, Marion Jones are some of the athletes that have high profile status. And their careers are on the line due to this investigation. Marion Jones and Berry Bonds are the first of many athletes to be indicted on charges of perjury.

Jones lost her medals and may face up to 10 years in prison. Bonds is next in line for charges. Clemens will defend himself while in Washington.

Musician Mary J. Blige, entertainer Tyler Perry and rapper 50 Cent were mentioned by ABC News as users too.

Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger were known users.

World Wrestling Entertainment and Major League Baseball are under the microscope. What do you think?

Congress wants Clemens perjury probe

Feb. 27 - U.S. lawmakers are seeking a federal investigation into whether baseball great Roger Clemens lied to Congress when he denied that he had used performance-enhancing drugs. Clemens and his former trainer, Brian McNamee, clashed under oath at the February 13 hearing. Clemens insisted he had never used illegal performance-enhancing drugs and McNamee repeatedly said that he had. If found to have lied to Congress, Clemens could face up to five years in prison.
