I remember watching it, and completely taken aback, at the level of unadulterated stereotyping being displayed....I happen to be black, but agree wholeheartedly with your hypothesis of a role-reversal involving Blacks, Jews Or even Whites!!!!!! It's a shame that this nation is completely numb towards the plights and unfair depiction of minorities; Be it through govermental neglect, or mass-media miss-potrayal.......Fuck FOX!!!!!!!

Lots of folks have BIG families, Blacks, Hispanics, Catholics, Pentacostals...

And seing someone in a cartoon who wasn't one of the typical American racial groups was kinda cool...

I shook my head a bit at the seven kids line, but the company is owned by an Indian with a heavy accent (Vin Gupta). I don't really think this was a racist ad. You can be sure Vin signed off on that before it aired. He probably had input into the content. He obviously didn't realize how it would be perceived by many. I bet he thought it was funny. (Definitely wasn't, though.) Being about 60% white, 38% black and 12% native american, I'm as sensitive to racism as anyone could possibly be. I just don't see it here.

What do you expect from a country who prospered and grew by taking Native American's lands, slaughtering them and then forced the survivors into concentration reservations . . . along with the enslavement of millions of Africans.

Cliffy, i agree 100% --Was the 'Macaca' moment not enough to gauge the zeitgeist??..when will this 'harmless'(not!) parody and 'accent'entendres end?..or should we assume that every Indian or Indian-American talks like Peter Sellers in 'The Party'??(good movie,though) ..will young desi kids who speak like everyone else in america have to grow up with this ridicule? Mebbe cuz our beloved president speaks like a dang hucklebuck yahoo!?! I wish there was more of a backlash against this sort of stuff..it's far too ubiquitous in cartoons and movies for my liking.Indians are ensconced in every aspect of America..be it I.T,Medical, Industrial,Entrepreneurial, Social and yes,even Slurpie-engineering or cab driving ;>)..but some of it is simply way too offensive. We need some decency and more couth re: this issue.I think it's way past 'the rites of passage' argument some posit that Irish,Italian,Black,Jew or Chinese community had to go thru to get acceptance in mainstream America. <sigh> I wish my fellow sub-continentals weren't soooo passive and peacenik-ish. They will get away with it. That pandas are named after real pandas. If they were really stereotyping, I would expect the buck teeth and big ol' eye glasses (often how Asians were depicted in the 60s and 70s).

The Indian guy.... sorry. Although at first I found the ad offensive, I work with people with heavy accents across the globe. And he ends up winning in the end anyway.
