Strange thing happened this morning...I pulled my piano out of the closet and I was tinking around with the idea of doing this song and video....when "BOOM"..!!! I ran outside and heard a few alarms sounding off...it sounded like it was coming from the surrounding buildings around my apt building... My thoughts were spinning for a minute or 2.... It had been sometime since I was made acutely aware of just how close we are to complete madness and chaos... This is the kind of thing...that may very well happen....but for real.....sooner then we think. This turned out to be a false alarm...(not a false flag).. But...it drove a point deep into my subconsciousness.... Just yesterday the city of Seattle did a 'earthquake' drill...with those TV droning endless tones...."If this was an actual emergency..." and downtown I heard their big alarms going off... www.ralphbuckley.com FLOW... Sometimes...all of us get stuck in the vortices of life...! This is true on all levels. As above, so below. From the microcosm to the macrocosm. From tiny cells to the celestial galaxies in this 'far-flung universe. This is true when we become stuck or immovable in our beliefs. There is no use in denying that we have all at one time or another have found ourselves on the wrong end of a bad decision. For whatever reason...regardless of common sense or logic...we hang on to these ideals and beliefs to the point of absurdities (especially if pride is on the line) I have been fortunate to have discovered music has a therapy. Early on in my music journey...I found the beauty of 'going with da flow'. The language of the improvisation. In my case....I was endlessly fascinating with blues/jazz improvisation. It becomes very much like a river...and you become more and more confident in your ability to flow, the more you do it....mistakes are more then acceptable... I love making a mistake, and coming back and purposely doing it again. Like it was somehow meant to be that way...who's to say otherwise. Music and improv has taught me so much, but I'm always looking to go back and study...to understand the foundations of music theory... It has ultimately increased my 'musical vocabulary' enabling me to take my 'music improvised free for alls' to higher, sometimes uncharted territories... Another cool thing about all of this...U get has much as you put into it. I'm very well aware of my limits. I have so far to go. I know that I need to expand my 'musical vocabulary'....my 'chops' if you will. I am in such awe when I see someone who has taken their talent to a level that is beyond my ability. In my younger days, I sometimes reacted negatively to coming across such talent...when in essence my own little 'ego' was completely shattered.... Because I was going around thinkin' that I was "All That"....& I found out that 'I wasn't'...! Inevitably this type of 'philosophy' has influenced my approach to many other aspects in my life as well. This relates, with all due respect, to my upbringing in the church. My years of study as an altar boy. Its made it possible for me to see, as clear as day, the rigidity and immovable belief system of the church. This type of dominance and control is based on fear. Knowledge is not the friend of the elite. Knowledge is the enemy. Knowledge leads to 'open discussion'. Free thinking.... Like improv. This is where the human mind really takes off. Man it is 'Zen'...in action. When you're really out of body. This kind of thinking...thought, activity is not what the church or the NWO wants to see in there expendable sheeple. They like to create the very opposite of the flowing river of life, love and learning. They want to create the 'murky bog'...where just the act of moving forward....through this mire....is extremely difficult and perilous. Soon you become so preoccupied with just trying to get from one day to the next....survival becomes the only thing you have time for. When the dollar collapses....this is precisely where the middle class will be. Just trying to survive one day to the next. Believe me...there is much more to life then this 'media' would have you believe. The human being and spirit is so full of potential and beauty. You & I have been put here, on Earth & at this time for a specific reason. All of us have such purpose and strength. Soon our strengths and weaknesses will be shown to us. We will be going through circumstances we never dreamed of. But this power is within all of us. This in turn influences the growing numbers of us who are just trying to get decent information to argue amongst ourselves about matters of little importance so they again, can continue to keep us in the dark. For instance, as much has I've learned from, and respect Alex Jones...It's been a topic of discussion regarding certain loyalties he might have to questionable individuals. Which ultimately comes down to, has it always does....money$$$. It is no secret, that there our certain topics that are taboo for Alex and his guests. For example, there is no talk of the "Jesuits" or the "Zionists" and there influence & connections to the New World Order. It just makes one wonder. Alex Jones is quite an entertaining guy and I listened intently to him in the beginning of my 'awakening' process. He is definitely one of the 'loudest' voices on the 'alternative news' front. But now it seems like conspiracies & the "Illuminati" have become a money making business, via books, movies etc....and Alex Jones has become a 'bigger then life' character. There's one thing that he does very well, and that is keeping the 'fear' factor alive and strong. So why wouldn't aforesaid individuals support what he's doing. Secretly anyways. He's not really exposing those who haven't been exposed already, and as I've said previously he's keeping the New World Order-Illuminati agenda alive and well. (Besides "Bush-bashing has become quite acceptable...just don't talk publicly about his grandpa Prescott.) There is a solution...and that is to empower ourselves. Our mission is to wake up to our 'true nature'. Our true purpose. We are not meant to live in fear. Remember the mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is closed...it only works when it is open!!! If we would just open up to our true nature we could take what is rightfully ours...!!! The control that the elite have upon us is just an illusion. We hold the true power. Why is it the few can control the many...??? Slavery is defined as the act of keeping a person as a piece of property. If you ask the average American if slavery still exists in America, their answer is likely to be no. After watching this video, many will change their minds.

As the crack epidemic flooded inner cities across the country, in 1986 Reagan's "Anti-Drug Abuse Act" makes the penalty for crack possession a hundred times harsher than that of powder cocaine. The following year new legislation is passed allowing private corporations to own and operate prisons. Twenty years later over a million non-violent drug offenders are imprisoned while corporate stocks are traded based on how many prisoners are in the cages.

A report released in 2008 by the International Center for Prison Studies at King's College London states that the United States has the highest incarceration rate and most people behind bars per capita in the world. Over 50% of these people are imprisoned for drug crimes. At the same time, prescription drug companies account for over 50% of Fortune 500 profits. All illegal drugs combined kill approx 11K per year while cigarettes, alcohol and pharmaceutical kill almost a million. What's wrong with this picture?

This post isn't about immigration, but it is about a man who brought about change. This blog is about giving a voice to undocumented students and passing the DREAM Act, but most importantly this blog is about change.

Recently I rented from my local public library the movie Amazing Grace. The movie is based on the life of William Wilberforce, an antislavery pioneer. William Wilberforce was elected to the House of Commons at the age of 21. He had a promising political career ahead of him when he took on the fight against the British slave trade. One of William's confidents was John Newton, a former slave-ship owner, who penned the popular hymn Amazing Grace. Another friend who encouraged William to fight against slavery using political means and supported him as he struggled against the Parliament, was William Pitt the Younger, England's youngest ever Prime Minister.

The story of William Wilberforce is very moving and really exemplifies how one man can change the world. Over twenty years Wilberforce fought against public indifference and the backroom politics of the British Parliament. Over twenty years Wilberforce fought for his cause. At the same time he dealt with his own physically ailing health, as well as the growing sickness in his heart from all the frustration.

The Slave Trade Act with 283 votes to 16 was passed in March 1807 abolishing the slave trade, but not slavery. Not until July of 1833, was a message rushed to the failing Wilberforce that the Bill for Abolition of Slavery was ensured passage. Three days later Wilberforce died. And one month later, Parliament passed the Slavery Abolition Act, which gave most enslaved people in the British Empire their freedom.

"Wilberforce was praised in the pages of Uncle Tom's Cabin. He was compared by novelist E. M. Forester to Gandhi. Abraham Lincoln invoked his memory in a celebrated speech. In the houses of Parliament, Nelson Mandela recalled his tireless labors on behalf of the sons and daughters of Africa, calling Britain ‘the land of William Wilberforce-who dared to stand up to demand that the slaves in our country should be freed.'"

I'd like to end this with a memorable quote from the movie:

"When people speak of great men, they think of men like Napoleon - men of violence. Rarely do they think of peaceful men. But contrast the reception they will receive when they return home from their battles. Napoleon will arrive in pomp and in power, a man who's achieved the very summit of earthly ambition. And yet his dreams will be haunted by the oppressions of war. William Wilberforce, however, will return to his family, lay his head on his pillow and remember: the slave trade is no more."
