Watch as FOX's Steve Doocy throws a conniption fit in an attempt to link Obama with Bill Ayers. While it's kind of amusing that FOX can't drop the all-important crawl to get a glimpse of Ayers standing on an American flag, this smear is downright disgraceful.

FOX Race Wars: Brian Kilmeade Fights Infection

Last Friday sure was a tough one for the unflappably sunny, democrat-bashing folks at FOX & Friends. In my previous post, I talked about Chris Wallace’s unexpected critique of his F&F comrades, taking them to task for their unfair, dishonest attempt to create more racial division and animosity following Barack Obama’s courageous speech that attempted to explain then bridge America’s sad history of prejudice. But before Wallace’s appearance, things got so heated between the F&F co-hosts that Brian Kilmeade (the dark-haired one) got so pissed off with fellow hosts Steve Doocy and Gretchen Carlson that he couldn’t even look at them. Kilmeade said:

You know for a fact that he doesn’t want to diminish white people, and if you don’t believe him, he’s half white! And he’s trying to say my [Obama’s] grandma grew up probably maybe in the 30s and there was a different view of whites, and this reverened [Wright] was growing up during the 60s where there was white-only bathrooms and water fountains…and that’s what he was trying to say in the speech!

Kilmeade was referring to the topic that apparently was the only thing FOX thought was worth talking about that morning: Obama saying in an interview that his grandmother was a “typical white person” in regards to her ingrained prejudices against black people. Even Kilmeade knew that Obama wasn’t attacking all white people (especially since Obama is half white), and Obama’s campaign clarified that Obama was talking about generational differences, which everyone agrees exists. But Kilmeade's co-hosts kept hammering away at it until Kilmeade couldn’t take it anymore — though it might have been Doocy’s dig about sports guys (Kilmeade has covered a lot of sports) that put him over the edge.

So what the hell is going on at FOX? In my opinion, I think there’s some soul searching going on amongst some at FOX about their relentlessly racist, divisive, and dishonest strategy to take down Obama by playing to their audience’s ugliest prejudices. This country is way overdue for racial unity, and Obama’s speech is the most gutsy attempt I’ve ever seen by any politician to speak frankly about the resentment and bitterness felt by both the black and white sides of the racial divide. So what would you do if you saw Obama’s speech repeatedly, cynically and dishonestly used to exacerbate racism? Hopefully you’d do what Brian Kilmeade did — walk away and refuse to be a part of it. Hopefully more at FOX, as well as other networks, will do the same.

Kudos to you, Kilmeade.

FOX ATTACKS! Obama part 2: Spreading the Virus has zoomed past 400,000 views and 25,000 petition signatures in less than a week! (I realize that the counter is only at 399,155 as I write this, but with YouTube's slower updating, I'm willing to call it). Thanks so much to all of you who watched the video and helped distribute the FOX anti-virus far and wide. We’ve seen what happens when FOX’s sickness is allowed to spread unchecked — the 2000 election, the Iraq war, the 2004 election, a near war with Iran, etc. — so it is vitally important that you and your loved ones be vaccinated as soon as possible. The FOX virus is especially active during election years and has been known to cause faulty judgment, hallucinations, and severe ass-backwardism.

And in an amazing and unprecedented turn, it seems that even FOX’s Chris Wallace has been inoculated.

Chris Wallace, host of FOX News Sunday, was a guest on FOX & Friends this morning. But instead of previewing his Sunday show, Wallace shocked hosts Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade, and Gretchen Carlson by laying into them over their ridiculous coverage of a statement Barack Obama recently made during an interview where he referred to his grandmother as “a typical white woman” in regards to some of her ingrained racial prejudices.

Hey listen, I love you guys but I want to take you to task if I may, respectfully, for a moment. I have been watching the show since 6:00 this morning when I got up, and it seems to me that two hours of Obama bashing on this typical white person remark is somewhat excessive and frankly I think you’re somewhat distorting what Obama had to say.

FOX Can’t Stop Lying About Climate Change

It’s always amazing to me that conservatives think creationism should be taught in schools as a legitimate scientific theory (when it’s neither scientific nor a theory) while whining that the science of climate change does not meet their suddenly rigorous standards.

On FOX & Friends, Steve Doocy claimed that the mythical “liberal” media is not telling America the truth about climate change and are purposefully ignoring the Heartland Institute’s global warming skeptics conference being held in New York City. He went on to claim:

We hear a lot about global warming, and that we better do something to fix it or we’re doomed. But is there another side to this story? Many scientists would say yes, but most media outlets, the mainstream media, only cover Al Gore’s earth has a fever perspective. […] In fact, last week we were reporting that this is the worst winter in some parts of America and around the world, and perhaps we should be worried now about global cooling.

The same old lies over and over again. Let’s go over them:

1. For the millionth time, the weather in a particular place for a single season is not evidence of a trend in the overall climate, which looks at the entire planet over longer periods of time. Because “some parts” of the world are experiencing cold spells does not mean that the whole planet is.
2. Even though parts of the US (like the West) experienced cooler temps this winter, temps in the Northeast were warmer than average. The National Climatic Data Center reports that temperatures in the US during January were “near average”.

Pardon the holiday interruption, but the bullies at FOX are at it again. This time, they are trying to get Senator Obama and Senator Edwards to buckle to their threats and accusations. The senators are standing tall, tough and strong.

We must encourage them to resist the name-calling and intimidation and refuse to legitimize the propaganda network.
