This is the reasons why you're Senators and Representatives are a bunch of lying scumbags. They spend our taxpayer dollars to censor the freedom of speech and expression in the name of their fears!

This is in a good sense to respond to Senator Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Connecticut).

Joe Lieberman has been on a virtual warpath with the music, television, video gaming and Internet industry. Being one of the founding members of the Parental Advisory Committee, Lieberman along with Jack Thompson, Tipper Gore, Dan Quayle, Bill Bennett and C. Delores Tucker have advocated their "values" on our music, television, video games, and Internet.

The senator has written a letter to the founders and technical staff at YouTube, LLC, a division of GOOGLE, Incorporated. Lieberman is in the panic mode about how a global internet networking site advocating vile propaganda! And believe me, he's won't rest until he gets what he wants.

He is upset that there's al-Qaeda and terrorist videos posted here on YouTube. Although, I do not advocate terrorism, I believe that these videos provide background into why they have a beef with the United States and Western culture in general.

As with many on the conservative right, this man is no different. You see, the people of Connecticut re-elected him in 2006, after his defeat in the Democratic primary. Lieberman ran as an "Independent" and won a strong margin of victory. Those who support him are those who are truly the so-called "values" voters.

This is a response to him. Yeah, I am aware; Senator Lieberman endorses Presidential Candidate Senator John McCain (R-Arizona)!

In a world where many would rather watch than read, the veracity of these films is often unquestioned. Should it be? Do these films manipulate reality? What are the responsibilities of the filmmaker? Guttentag tackles these and many other questions - The Commonwealth Club of California

Bill Guttentag, a two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker, wrote and directed Live!, a dramatic feature starring Eva Mendes, Andre Braugher, and David Krumholtz. The film was produced by Chuck Roven/Mosaic Media Group and distributed by The Weinstein Company. He also wrote and directed Nanking, a documentary which premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. The film includes a stage reading he wrote that features Woody Harrelson, Mariel Hemingway, and Jurgen Prochnow. Nanking was released theatrically this winter by THINKFilm and will air later in the year on HBO.

In 2003 Bill Guttentag won an Oscar for the documentary Twin Towers (Universal). It was his second Academy Award; the first was for You Don't Have to Die, a film he made for HBO.

He has also received three additional Oscar nominations, as well as two Emmy Awards. His films have been selected three times for the Sundance Film Festival and have played and won awards at numerous American and international film festivals. His films have received a number of special screenings, including one at the White House.

Veteran Broadway director Doug Hughes discusses his career and methods with Robert LuPone, the director of the New School for Drama. Hughes is the New School's artist-in-residence for the 2007-8 academic year.

Doug Hughes is an associate artist at Roundabout Theatre Company, where he recently directed Eugene O’Neill's A Touch of the Poet, Richard Greenberg's A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, Jon Robin Baitz' The Paris Letter and Stephen Belber's McReele. He is also the resident director at MCC Theater, where he directed Last Easter, Scattergood, Frozen, Anadarko and The Grey Zone (1996 Obie Award for Direction).

For his work on Frozen, Hughes received Tony Award, Outer Critics Circle and Lortel nominations. Other recent work in New York includes Engaged at Theatre for a New Audience; Flesh and Blood (Callaway Award for Best Direction), The Beard of Avon and A Question of Mercy, all at NYTW; Othello (with Keith David and Liev Schreiber) at the Public; John Guare's Lake Hollywood at Signature and Doubt, Defiance and An Experiment with An Air Pump for Manhattan Theatre Club. For his work on Doubt, Hughes won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play. He also won the Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics, Drama Desk and Callaway Awards for the same production. Huffington Post: The writers strike that shut down Hollywood for more than three months officially began in November, but the groundwork was laid much earlier. It started with something the town rarely notices: a routine, biannual WGA election.

Back in 2005, there was already a growing consensus that the negotiations in '07 would be a turning point in the Guild's history, one way or another. As this awareness took shape, WGA members were approached by an unlikely group of leaders.

In 2005, Patric M. Verrone and David N. Weiss ("Weiss"), the candidates for President and Vice President of the WGA, were successful, but relatively unknown writers with the bulk of their work in animation. When Weiss, a friend of mine, told me he was running, I told him he was insane. To really appreciate how insane, you'd have to meet his wife, Eliana. Some writers manage to marry above themselves. Weiss is a good example. You'd also have to meet his kids. Coming from a political background myself, I asked Weiss why he would want to risk losing them in exchange for something as inconsequential as the Guild.
