Speaking on his behalf in court were a Jewish Rabbi, Christian priest, local sheriffs and FBI agents. The Imam was targeted by the Department of Homeland Security because of a prior detention by Israel. While detained, he was tortured and forced to sign a confession which he could not read. In the end, the US Immigration Judge ruled that the Department of Homeland Security testimony was unreliable and said that the family should be granted residency status. The good news is, and by the way I think the president of the United States deserves some credit, for the fact that there has not been another attack on the United States of America since 9/11. I think he would probably be getting the blame if there had been and obviously that leads to a bit of complacency. But I think that as a leader you have to keep emphasizing to the American people the nature and the pervasiveness of this threat. We are in two wars, Afghanistan and Iraq and both of those wars we have young Americans in harm's way. In Afghanistan things are not going as well as we wanted it to-, wanted to for a variety of reason. There's great uncertainty as to what the new government of Pakistan is going to do in relation to the Taliban, particularly on the borders of Pakistan and Afghanistan. So I think that, I'm not sure I agree with the the 30-40% number, but I could I also tell you that on 9/11 I wouldn't've told the American people to take a trip or go shopping. I would've told them to serve this country, join the Peace Corps, join the military, join Americorps, join neighborhood volunteer organizations to make sure our neighborhoods are safe and secure, join, join, join and serve, serve this country, serve a cause greater than your self interest. The United States faces increased risk of another attack over the next year and a half, which will place a burden on the next administration.
