Mike Huckabee
Speech - CPAC
Washington D.C. 02/09/08

TRANSCRIPT:
MIKE HUCKABEE: But we also believe that there are some things that are right. For example, as conservatives we believe that it is right to protect the sovereignty of the United States, and to make that that we never, ever for any circumstance, under any purpose, ever yield one ounce of our sovereignty over to some international tribunal. Thats why we need to fight against the law of the Sea Treaty, and make sure it gets a good burial at sea. Thats why we should say no to Kyoto. And its why anytime some United States judge who has taken an oath to the Constitution of the United States should invoke some international law as a basis on which to make a decision, he should be summarily impeached for having done so.

(October 10, 2008) While the worlds focus may be on the global financial meltdown, the U.S and India have signed a historic deal to trade nuclear energy. But, India has never signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation treaty and has tested weapons in the past. So, why now is it okay to trade energy with India and not with a signatory country like Iran?

Indian foreign affairs analyst Raja Mohan argues that many leaders among India's foreign policy establishment would prefer John McCain over Barack Obama as the next U.S. President.

-----

During the Asia Society's 36th Annual Williamsburg Conference in April in Bali, Indonesia, we asked policy leaders from across Asia which US presidential candidate is most favorably viewed in their part of the world.

A large number of respondents said Barack Obama was the most popular, and the Indonesian respondents in particular talked about the significance of Senator Obama's early childhood in the country. Meanwhile, the city named "Obama" in Japan is enjoying increasing popularity! - Asia Society

Dr C Raja Mohan is an analyst of Indian foreign policy and international security affairs and an advocate of India's strategical alignment with America. He has served on India's National Security Advisory Board during 1998-2000.
Lest we become distracted by the circus-like coverage of the presidential campaigns, the following should be a reminder that the Bush Administration has more than 11 months to further accomplish their missions:

President Bush has declared he has the right to bypass a new law that prohibits the use of taxpayer money to establish permanent U.S. military bases in and control the oil resources of Iraq.

Watch your independent news sources for more on the proposed Iraq treaty agreement which would bypass congress and create a military commitment for the new administration into the foreseeable future.

Watch also for the drama of pressure tactics and the eventual signing of the Iraq Oil Law which will secure Iraqi oil as our "strategic national interest" for the next 30 years.

Mitt Romney
Town Hall
Merrimack, NH 12/26/07

TRANSCRIPT:
MITT ROMNEY: "[...] I do not believe in the moving our nuclear stockpile and our nuclear weapons. I believe that in a world where you have a nation like Iran developing nuclear technology. This is a nation that sits on a lake of virtual free energy. Developing with as much haste as they can accomplish, the enrichment of uranium for the apparent purpose of creating nuclear weapons. If they're able to do such a thing other nations would follow that same course. This is not a time, in my view, for us to shrink from having our own nuclear arsenal. Nor for us to shrink from technology development which is within the nuclear proliferation treaty. So I'm certainly not going to fall outside of our obligations, but I'm also not going to unilaterally weaken America, from a nuclear standpoint, at a time when we face a nuclear risk of some significance. Thank you."

Join the Campaign for Liberty! www.campaignforliberty.com

This is one step closer to liberal's "big brother". The US is loosing is sovereignty. The US is one step closer to having to pay taxes to foreign (and even hostile) nations. The Liberals often try to smear their opponents by saying their opponents are promoting "Big Brother", however when you look at the facts the Liberals and unfortunately some Republicans are the ones that are promoting "Big Brother". Whether it be to taxes of some global welfare program, the Kyoto treaty or under the guise of some other form of environmentalism, ect... The liberal fascists are selling what is essentially a blend of fascism, socialism, and communism. Unfortunately the right is shifting more in the same direction to compromise with liberals.

-----

Crossroads for NATO: How the Atlantic Alliance Should Work in the 21st Century with The Right Honourable David Cameron MP.

David Cameron will consider the key challenges facing NATO at this important time in the organization's history. His speech comes ahead of the Bucharest Summit that will take place on 2-4 April.

Many commentators and analysts have observed that if the wrong decisions are taken at Bucharest - or if no decisions are taken at all - then the Alliance will face not only deep internal disagreement, but also questions over its future role and relevance - Chatham House

Complete video at: fora.tv

Author and CSU-Fresno Professor of Classics Bruce Thornton argues that US - European military agreements such as NATO have outlived their usefulness.

-----

Peter Robinson interviews Fresno State Classicist Bruce Thornton about his new book Decline and Fall: Europe's Slow Suicide.

In his new book, Decline and Fall: Europe's Slow Motion Suicide, Bruce Thornton asserts that Europe has turned its back on the Western tradition to which it owes its greatness. It has abandoned pride in the nation, discarded traditional Christianity, and, in so doing, is without unifying values, ideals, and beliefs.

But if Europe is still democratic, and if it still embraces the free market, why should anyone care that Judaeo-Christian religious beliefs are slipping away. The answer lies in the coinciding rise of radical Islam - Hoover Institution

Bruce S. Thornton is a classicist at California State University, Fresno. He is a frequent guest on talk radio shows across the United States and appeared regularly on ABC's Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher. Thornton is a regular contributor to the popular, conservative website www.CaliforniaRepublic.org and has written several books.

Peter M. Robinson is a research fellow at the Hoover Institution, where he writes about business and politics, edits Hoover's quarterly journal, the Hoover Digest, and hosts Hoover's television program, Uncommon Knowledge.

Why shoot a satellite down? You are 1000 times more likely to get hit by lightning than by the toxic fuel in the dead satellite the U.S. shot down last week. Broadcasters worldwide speculated on the real reason - to keep enemies from getting their hands on secret technology; to display our missile prowess; to tweak China, which shot its own satellite down a year ago. China, now repentant, is joining Russia and the UN in a treaty to ban weapons from space, a treaty the Bush administration refuses to join. Americans are unaccustomed to thinking about treaties, but with a new U.S. president on the way, this may be one worth considering.

A new politicial divide could be opening up in Sudan, after the main opposition party from the south announced it's suspending work participation in the government. The Sudan people's Liberation Movement says its ministers and officials won't be turning up for work with what's supposed to be a national unity government. They say their political partners from the north have failed to meet a long list of demands, agreed to in a 2006 peace deal. That deal ended 20 years of fighting between southern rebels and the government in Khartoum.
