Yesterday morning, Montel Williams turned the question around on live television when he chose to focus on the soldiers dying in Iraq rather than the passing of Heath Ledger.
He did not return for a further segment.
The name of the soldier who died on January 25th has not been released by the Pentagon. Another soldier died yesterday, and one more already today.

I can't believe the people on this message board who think Montel Williams was out of line and acting in poor taste. WAR IS IN POOR TASTE! Got that? And as long as the illegitimate profiteering fascist thugs in Washington are killing and torturing human beings, the ONLY acceptable thing to do is oppose it every chance we get. Montel Williams has a place in the limelight that very few of us have and HE USED IT APPROPRIATELY!
And hey, Robert, stop accusing the rest of us of hypocrisy and inaction. You don't know what we do or how we think. You don't know how many letters my husband and I have written, how often we've picketed our Congresscritter's local office (and been arrested), how many times we've been threatened with arrest for videotaping protests, how many counter-recruitment actions we've been involved in, how much work we've done for impeachment... AND, ironically, how often we've been mocked for bothering to care anymore!
You don't know the people we know who have done far more than we to end this war, dedicating their lives to peace actions. So just stare in the mirror and deliver your lecture to yourself, because the rest of us don't need your sermonizing!!!
TROOPS HOME NOW! IMPEACHMENT NOW!
