That was awesome! I applaud Montel for trying to talk about the hypocrisy that exists in the search for ratings and money. And the news anchors didn't even know how to respond-- they are showing clips of a Heath Ledger movie while Montel is talking about the troops who sacrificed their lives! I am so impressed with Montel, even when they try to cut him off and change the subject, he effortlessly stays on message without appearing arrogant or defensive, just concerned; as all of us should be, and most of us are.

I applaud Montel for trying to turn the conversation around to what affects so many more people than the death of an actor. While Heath's passing has certainly caused grief among his friends and relatives, how many more citizens are affected by this useless, incessant war-with-no-end. Big props for Montel's compassion about these soldiers' families and friends, who must grieve without the public conversations of their pain.

I agree. The media should be talking about the Iraq war. They should honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
I am not the one who is burying my head in the sand pretending there is no war. I have talked to troops who have been to Iraq and they all tell the same story. We weren't getting the whole story in the media before and now we are getting no story. While conditions have improved dramatically in Iraq the war is far from over. We should talk about what is happening not only in Iraq but also in Afghanistan..the "forgotten" war. Montel did bring up a good point but he went about it the wrong way.

They don't just bring guests on and have them take the lead and talk about whatever they feel like. Who does he think he is? He is a well known television personality that's who. Montel was not at someone's house, he was on television and was making an appropriate analogy about our society's values and the emphasis we place on celebrity news. It's called free speech; something I understand you don't endorse being a Bush sycophant.

My jaw just hit floor. Is this the first time Fox News has been compelling or profound in any way? As soon as they found out that the program had actual content rather than a pre-rehearsed collage of celebrity news dada they yanked the plug good and quick.
