Bill O'Reilly Vs The Drowning Pool

Remember when Billo was all whiny after his trip to Afghanistan?

"I went to thank these guys on behalf of me and my audience," said O'Reilly. "As far as I know, the only famous people in the past year were (country music singer) Toby Keith and me."

Well, it seems the alt metal band The Drowning Pool has taken exception to his statement (see video).

I like their style. From what I remember of the incredible book "Chasing Ghosts", music is alot more important to the troops than some old pervert from Faux News.

O'Reilly on His Visit to Afghanistan
The AP's Jeremy Herron caught up with FNC's Bill O'Reilly in Istanbul today. O'Reilly is on his way home from Afghanistan where he met with troops over the weekend.
Herron writes, "the cantankerous Fox News Channel commentator told The Associated Press that he's disappointed that the United Service Organizations 'doesn't put anybody out there (in Afghanistan).'"

I'm thinking "the googles" are available even over there in Afghanistan. If Billo had a clue, he could have gone here and seen that other than the "International Fight League" and Toby Keith, Tom Arnold and Dax Shepherd had been there earlier in the year. And that there are 6 performances yet in the year that have not been given destinations.

Also, he would have noticed that the real unsung hero of the USO looks to be actor Gary Sinise and his band. They have played 5 tours this year so far in Kuwait, Iraq, Germany, Belgium, California, Hawaii and Kansas. With a lot less fanfare than Mr O'Reilly.

Bill O'Reilly visited Iraq a few months back in order to set the leftist media straight by reporting on the plethora of positive stories you could not find in the newspapers or on the tube. "The Big Man" left quite an impression and afterwards many were wondering if he was not the new Bob Hope. While some might find the comparison between the humorless O'Reilly and Bob Hope ridiculous, there are some scary similarities - beyond the obvious USO tours (something like 60 between them) - shown at the end of the video that are difficult to ignore.
