His research focuses on the role of steroid hormones in amphibian development and he conducts both laboratory and field studies in the U.S. and Africa. The two main areas of interest are metamorphosis and sex differentiation. </p> <p>His work addresses problems on several levels including ecological, organismal, and molecular questions.
