Si a occidente le molesta tanto que Irán progrese de esa forma, no es sino porque su defensor, Estados Unidos, se encuentra en tan patética situación que cada día pide a China 2 a 3 billones de dólares solo para la guerra en Iraq (en un mes casi el doble de todo lo que produce Chile en un año entero), y año tras año su Senado destina 50 billones de dólares para alimentar la división en Irán.

Gracias a esas políticas, Estados Unidos es actualmente incapaz de asegurar servicios de salud a los niños pues, por cada segundo en la guerra en Iraq, se quita tal derecho a casi 3 niños norteamericanos.

Occidente se endeuda con las guerras de Estados Unidos, mientras Irán progresa invirtiendo en el mundo.

Basta con eso para entender la demonización de Ahmadinejad que emerge estos días de los monopolios comunicacionales en todos los países Latinoamericanos.

Yes, you heard that right! In speaking about energy independence on the Senate floor, Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) said that America needs to start producing oil once again so that foreign countries won't "jerk us around by the gas nozzle."

Now, I'm no expert on energy independence, but I would think that Bush, McCain, and the rest of the Republicans pushing for offshore drilling wouldn't want Craig and his scandalous past to come anywhere near a campaign with soundbytes like this that could be misconstrued as innuendo. But that's just me.

What's also funny about this clip is that Craig somehow thinks that offshore drilling will suddenly fix our economy and national security, as well as allay the xenephobic fears that he and his cronies have been implanting for years. Oil, the magical cure-all. Gas nozzle!

The following information from Wikipedia may explain the real reason why Maria Conchita Alonso is not eager to return to Venezuela.

Her brother, Roberto Alonso, is considered the father of "La Guarimba", an uprising technique designed by him to overthrow Hugo Chavez. "La Guarimba" was enforced in Venezuela between the 27th of February and the 6th of March, 2004, some Venezuelans attended his call blocking the streets and paralyzing the country with burning garbage and tires.

Alonso is against any negotiation with the Venezuelan authorities and promotes deposing the government by means of civil disobedience.

According to the Venezuelan regime, Alonso is a Cuban traitor, a terrorist who joined the CIA in 1972 and has a long criminal record, including the participation in the Cuban airplane explosion in Barbados in the year 1976. In February 2004, some Venezuelan attended the opposition's call to start a ¨Guarimba¨, Alonso was accused of being the instigator, and guilty for the injured and even casualties occurred during this protests.

Rupert Murdoch's johnny-come-lately FOX Business Network continues sister company FOX News' disinformation campaign about Hugo Chavez, the President of Venezuela.

On June 9, 2008 FBN's David Asman interviewed Thor Halvorssen, an attractive, earnest young man from the former ruling class of Venezuela, and Charles Roth, an expert on Latin American finance who works for Murdoch's Dow Jones Newswires.

While FBN has every right to program partisan guests, in the interests of balance, it might be nice if they scheduled a pro-Chavez guest to counter the one-sided propaganda spread by people like Halvorssen and Roth.

Willie Harcourt-Cooze, a British entrepreneur who has been dubbed Willy Wonka after the fictional character - is using Venezuelan cacao beans to make a highly sought-after chocolate.

Harcourt-Cooze boasted that his South American plantation produces "the finest, rarest and most expensive cacao in the world".

However his success has left a bitter taste in the mouth of President Hugo Chavez.

The Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez, has ordered an investigation into his export business.

The United States first lost its influence in Latin America because of deals it made during the Cold War to prop up any dictatorship as long as it was anti-communist. Even Bill Clinton with his "free-trade" and drug eradication projects was not open to South American autonomy from Washington.
