<p><p>Wow, I can't wait until this moron is up for reelection (2010) and doesn't have a semi-popular President Bush--circa-2004 when all the lies hadn't been discovered yet--propping him up. </p><p>The Webb Amendment would "demean troops" how, by not getting them killed from making mistakes due to over-exaustion?</p><p>Martinez is just another "historical document" Condi, "heckuva job" Brownie, "I don't recall" Alberto G. and Karen "God is in the Constitution" Hughes, ie someone who has their position based solely on their Bush bona fides (and sadly in this case, the dumbest Democratic consultant I ever worked for--and that is saying something--named Deborah Reed, who managed Democrat Betty Castor's race against him and under-performed John Kerry's total in Florida by leaps and bounds).</p><p>Martinez, to Condi's delight, will be a historical document come 2010.</p></p>

<p><p>Instructive lesson today. Two votes. One supporting our Constitution, which we discussed earlier (restoration of Habeas Corpus) and this second one <a href="http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=110&amp;session=1&amp;vote=00241">supporting our troops</a>.</p><p>In both cases, the Republicans not only vote against the measures in overwhelming numbers, but obstruct the votes and require not a majority, but 60 votes to overcome a filibuster. Only Sen. Lieberman--who hasn't been a Democrat since he won with Karl Rove's money--was in oppposition (of those caucusing with Dems).</p><p>So, in other words, the Republicans hate our freedoms, hate our troops and hate our democracy. And they used a tactic they decried when they were in the majority and whining about "up or down votes" for mental ward patients masquerading as judges. So they are hypocrites too.</p><p>Your modern GOP at work.</p></p>
