FOX is using the google algorithm in the wrong ways...this proves it. FOX website using subliminal messages based on what happens so their search results will come up

Go to this fox news article, www.foxnews.com

Copy the articles in "PEOPLE WHO READ THIS..." section, open notepad and PASTE. If this isn't use of their media power to try and smear Obama i'm not sure what really is anymore. For an organization with so much power, they aren't doing the public any good trying to attack the potential next president of the united states.

It's genius from an SEO standpoint using a simple JS file to do this, but they aren't using them the right way.

If you are programmer, click this link and you'll understand how they do it. www.foxnews.com

Voting activist Maya Enista examines how personal technology and the internet are changing political organizing, and may be encouraging greater youth participation in politics.

-----

On July 22nd 2008, The Century Foundation (TCF) hosted the second installment in its summer 2008 public policy lunch series for New York City interns with a forum, "The Incredible Youth Vote: Will the Youth Vote Have the Strength to Decide the 2008 Presidential Election?"

TCF gathered a panel of experts to lead an interactive discussion with nearly 100 young people from the NYC area on the potential political power of the youth vote, and the various legal and social factors that election year after election year keep this demographic of voters from actively engaging in the political process.

Forum speakers included, Tova Wang, Vice President of Research for Common Cause and Democracy Fellow at The Century Foundation; Justin Rockefeller, Co-founder and National Program Director of GenerationEngage, Maya Enista, Chief Executive Officer of Mobilize.org, Mark Hugo Lopez, Associate Director of the Pew Hispanic Center; and Ben Adler, Staff Writer for Politico - The Century Foundation

Maya Enista is chief executive officer at Mobilize.org, and has worked in both the Washington, D.C., and California offices as the chief operating officer. She has been active in public service since she was an undergraduate at Rutgers University, focusing mainly on voter empowerment and youth civic engagement.

In addition to her work with Mobilize.org, she serves on the steering committee for the November 5th Coalition,.an all-partisan alliance committed to civic partnerships that address our democracy's biggest challenges. (The coalition is named for the day after the election in 2008, when a new chapter of America's civic history begins.) She also runs the 2100 Fund (originally founded by Atlas Service Corps Founder Scott Beale, and now a project of Mobilize.org), which throws "parties with a purpose" and raises money for diverse youth civic engagement campaigns throughout the country.

Everyone loves free, and one of the best ways to get people to buy your products is to offer them a teaser for free. And Web 2.0 offers many ways you can get your product samples out there, give a people a taste of your product and show them where they can buy the full version.

Obviously, this method isn't for everyone and is suited only to certain products. If, for example, you sell cars it wouldn't make much sense to offer people a free wheel as a teaser. However, if you sell online tutorials, eBooks, audio books, video content or software, this method works really well. In general, if your product can be downloaded, demos and teasers are an excellent means of promotion. You will also benefit from backlinks to your website which will help your standing with the search engines.

So, here are some tips on how to give potential customers a taste of what you offer and leave them wanting more.

If you aren't familiar with it yet, Web 2.0 is taking the internet by storm and changing the way people promote their businesses. The new style of promotion has taken the traditional text based internet marketing techniques and broadened the horizon. Some of the new styles of marketing and promotion you will want to consider include audio, video, social networking, and mobile promotion.

There is no question that the internet is evolving rapidly. With the internet continuously growing, the competition has become ever so difficult. Because of this, entrepreneurs are looking for any and every way to generate more traffic to their site. Web 2.0 has opened up a whole new world of promotion for online businesses.

The overall goal of Web 2.0 promotion is to get the product and service messages of your company into the scope of the internet public at lower costs than traditional media outlets. While text is still a vital piece of the internet, a variety of information dissemination is becoming increasingly important to offer visitors.

What once was only available to large corporations and businesses is now being offered to the everyday entrepreneur. he new promotional techniques available are largely due to advancing technology, a greater connectivity via the internet, and the way data is indexed and analyzed.

As the web changes, so do the best methods of marketing your products online and gaining increased exposure for your websites and blogs. While Web 2.0 technologies are now well established on the internet, many of the promotional possibilities they offer are still being explored. In this article, I look at how Web 2.0 can help you market and promote your product.

One of the chief advantages of Web 2.0 promotions is that they can be absolutely free or very, very cheap. But, there's a trade off. Instead of paying, you'll be spending more time planning and executing your marketing strategies.

Some Web 2.0 technologies have been around for quite a while now, while others have established themselves more recently. One of the first Web 2.0 technologies to come on stream was the blog. Blogs set themselves apart from traditional websites in that users could reply to blog posts and interact with the blog owner.

Blogs are easy and cheap to set up and are used by almost every business—no matter what size—to help promote products. A blog will allow you to keep readers informed about your products and can be a good opportunity to share your views and thoughts on related areas. And because potential and existing customers can interact with you, a blog can be used as a customer service tool.

If you publish websites or sell products online you have probably built up quite a bit of knowledge in your niche or your chosen field. By sharing this knowledge with the web world you can help people out and market your websites or products effectively.

Humans have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. A number of years back the internet changed the way we looked at information and effectively provided a virtual library for anyone with a computer and a phone line.

However, the collaborative nature of the Web 2.0 world has taken this a step further. Instead of just reading content, web users can now contribute and, for an internet marketer, this can be a valuable tool. By posting information and answering questions online you can drive significant traffic to your website. Here are some of the best websites to make this happen.

Getting consistent website traffic is essential to surviving and outlasting your competition. Regardless of what kind online business you may have, the kind of promotions and marketing you do can make or break your business. Especially for new entrepreneurs, it can be discouraging trying to find a way to generate traffic without having to spend money on advertising. So how do you get people to come to your site?

Web 2.0 promotions offer internet newbies an effective—and free—means of attracting website traffic. Not only can you attract visitors, but it also gives you a way to interact and build relationships with potential customers. Below are several Web 2.0 promotion methods you can use to reel in this traffic.

The first method is writing fresh and enticing articles. The internet is full of people looking for new ideas through fresh and enticing content. Being that you are the expert in your field, there is no better way to generate traffic than to offer information on what your site has to offer. You can then turn around and promote these articles on Web 2.0 enabled sites like Digg, Reddit, Plume, and NewsVine.

When it comes to Web 2.0 promotions, there is no shortage of different ways to attract extra traffic to your website. The difficult part is finding the methods that work best for you. One handy method that often passes under the marketing radar is the use of classified websites to increase backlinks and help create organic traffic too.

There is little difference between the traditional classified ads you see in a newspaper and classifieds on the web, except that you can post your ads for free on all the websites we mention here.

Most people use classifieds as a way to increase backlinks. However, do not discount the organic traffic that it might gain you so spend some time writing your classifieds. Keep them catchy and try to come up with a good headline. Also, use your targeted keywords in classifieds as much as possible.

There are a number of websites you can put your classifieds on but Craigslist is a good place to start. This will take a bit of work as there are hundreds of regions and you should post five or ten different classifieds in a number of different regions. Aim for the more populated regions and try to include keywords in your classifieds in all cases.

The internet changes every day. Those who keep track of these changes prosper but those who sit back and rest on their laurels will quickly fall behind and lose their competitive edge.

And so it is with Web 2.0 promotions. Even just a year ago marketing successfully in the Web 2.0 world required different methods and knowledge than what you need to be successful today.

That said, there are some internet marketing techniques that are as effective now as they were a few years ago. One of these is content contribution and that is what we are going to focus on in this article. Successful website promotion on today's internet involves content contribution to traditional article submission websites while also using newer Web 2.0 websites. So, here are some tips.

Start off with the more traditional methods. Write, or have written, a few articles and submit them to popular article directories like EzineArticles and ArticleCity. These will allow you to put some details about yourself and a backlink in a resource box at the bottom of your article.

Online videos offer internet marketers one of the best platforms for engaging an audience and building a solid clientele.

This innovative new marketing medium allows marketers to communicate with their viewers on several different levels using music, visual imagery and visual text.

Online video allows you to reach out to the global audience with a minimal investment, thus increasing your ROI tremendously. Moreover, it requires no technical expertise to set up or use. Adding a basic video to your web site only requires that you have access to a computer and a webcam or a digital camcorder.

Of course, knowing how to edit the video and add special effects by way of graphics, music and specialized text would give you the competitive edge over other businesses that use online videos for marketing.

Although there are no restrictions as to the kind of video you may produce for the purpose of marketing, remember the main aim of the video is to generate more business by keeping the customer engaged. With this in mind, it's critical that the video should be riveting enough to hold the viewers attention and yet it should remain relevant to your area of business.

Blogging produced a revolution in the business of online marketing. While blogging is a great Web 2.0 marketing tool for any business, it has become, especially for new, shoestring budget start-ups, a vital means to getting website traffic.

The following are ways blogging has helped level the playing field between well established, corporate giants and small businesses just starting out.

Setting up a Blog is Fast, Free & Easy

There was a time when setting up a business online wasn't free. Many businesses were at the mercy of the technologically savvy — the "gurus" who knew design. Then the concept of "free" became synonymous with blogging. Now, it's incomprehensible to think otherwise.

For startup businesses, blogs provide a great alternative to quickly and affordably setting up an online presence. There's no technical knowledge required other than basic internet skills.

With so many blog building tools and software freely available, creating a blog is faster and easier than setting up a web site. There's no need to send yourself, or staff, to expensive training programs or seminars. Once you've decided which software and tools you'd like to use, it will usually take less than ten minutes to

If you are interested in using Web 2.0 to market your products online, you need to think beyond traditional, one-way internet marketing techniques. You can now get written, audio, and visual content about your product on the web for free. You have the potential to expose yourself to millions of potential customers.

Blogs, social networking websites, and other products of the latest internet technology shift have changed the way we think about online marketing, and marketing in general. In fact, it is now accepted that traditional marketing techniques are losing their effectiveness as young people spend less time in front of the TV and more time in front of the PC.

One of the most popular free ways to market products is on Flickr. Ultimately, Flickr combines social networking and media sharing by allowing users to upload photographs.

So what does this mean for you? If you want to increase exposure, especially if you sell a product, you can simply publish product photographs on Flickr. If you can provide useful captions for your photographs, you'll be ahead of the curve. You also have to be different.

Blogging for business is the new marketing mantra. But do you know why blogging is good for your business? Do you know how it affects your bottom line?

Take a look at why blogging is a win-win situation for businesses as well as for their customers.

Why Your Business Should Have a Blog

Blogs are one of the best ways to broadcast information and establish credibility. Whether your posts include industry news or whether you provide valuable insider information, your audience will begin to label you as an expert. They will also begin to see you as a business that is interested in its community rather than just commercial activities.

One of the most surprising benefits to blogging is getting media attention. Traditionally, a business would send a press release to media outlets announcing "major" news then hope they get featured. But a press release is just another form of interruption marketing. Journalists are bombarded with press releases. Most are simply promotional pieces disguised as news.

If you are blogging interesting, informative, and thought provoking ideas, the media will come looking for you, without you having to pitch them. Journalists are looking for experts that know what they're talking about.

Because of instant syndication, blogging is the preferred method to distribute content quickly, establish yourself as an expert, and get featured by the media.

Although search engine optimization (SEO) remains as important as ever, the ongoing development of Web 2.0 technologies has changed the way we look at optimization. Standard optimization techniques focus very little on the customer.

Social software designers are learning that designing for group behavior and interaction is more complex than designing for individual users. Especially in social network design, the unpredictability in user response and group activities can pose design difficulties. In order for a social network design to be successful, there are several basic principles that should be followed.
