Sunday FOX Panel is Iran Warmongerrific!

By the way that William Kristol and Brit Hume talk, you’d think that the Iraq/Afghanistan debacles never happened. They just can’t seem to get it through their rocky neocon skulls that there are consequences to, as Hume put it, launching a “devastating military strike” against another country. Remember Shock & Awe? What did that achieve except signifying the start of the biggest avoidable clusterfuck this country has ever seen? They really seem to think that you can launch nukes at a country, dust off your hands, and go home for dinner. After Iraq, how could you ever assume that it would be that easy?

Kristol misses the point completely when he says it’s “ludicrous” and “ridiculous” for the administration to explain why it wants to outfit B-2 bombers with bunker busters. While Kristol thinks it will be giving plans to Iran, the point is that AMERICANS need to know the extent to which the Bush administration is preparing for war with Iran, allowing them to chance to use that democracy thing to decide if this is really what, as a country, we should be doing right now.

Also, there’s that little problem of unilateral sanctions being traditionally ineffective and bunker busters being ineffective in destroying buried targets while causing the deaths of thousands from radiation sickness, both inside and outside Iran. And the fact that I wouldn’t trust the Bush administration to assemble Ikea furniture, let alone start another war based on their “intelligence”.

When I started doing research for FOX ATTACKS! Iran, I told people that the republicans would try to use Iran scaremongering against the democrats, just like they tried to convince Americans that Al Qaeda was rooting for John Kerry in 2004. What say you, Droopy Dog Hume?

And it seems to me when you have Democrats running around, wringing their hands about alleged saber rattling that it makes them look terribly weak, and in the end if you’re the head of Iran, you think, “well, we want those people in charge.”

So predictable.

On Fox News Sunday, Juan Williams did what he does each week -- act as the only liberal on the roundtable panel and hold his ground against four conservatives. This week, he rebutted a call by neoconservative William Kristol for Bush to pardon Scooter Libby:

KRISTOL: He needs to pardon Libby now. I think that would actually reinvigorate his supporters, and show that he's willing to fight to defend his people and defend the war that he led us into.

WILLIAMS: Well, it would certainly be a demonstration of loyalty. But to you think that it would also be a demonstration of lack of fealty to the idea of law under a constitution when you obstruct justice and lie under oath? I mean, it reminds me of giving medals of freedom to George Tenet and Paul Bremer after that fiasco in Iraq. You just say to your friends, "It's okay, you get a 'get out of jail free card.'" I don't think that's a way you should run a country.
